Earn Continuing Education Credits at Upcoming Classes
Claire Marie Miller, an NCBTMB approved continuing education provider, will offer two Nurturing the Mother classes at the Institute for Massage Education. These classes are available to anyone who works with pregnant women or women with fertility issues.
Nurturing the Mother Pregnancy Massage class will be November 13 - 15. The Fertility Massage Specialist Certification class will be November 16 -17. "Exploring both the physical and the spiritual through massage, ritual and storytelling make these classes a unique workshop," relays Miller. "The partipant receives a full and enriching base of knowledge to take and share with their clients and their families."
The Pregnancy Masssage class offers 24 CEs and costs $495 ($450 if paid in full by October 13). The Fertility Massage Specialist Certification class offers 16 CEs and is $395 ($350 if paid in full by October 16). To take both classes, the price would be $700.

Student Clinic Massages Now Offered at the Institute for Massage Education
The Institute for Massage Education at KCHA offers 50-minute full-body massages to the general public. This is a great opportunity to receive massage at a greatly reduced rate.
Students near the completion of their training at the Institute perform the massages. The fee is $30 per session, with 10 percent off for senior citizens or students with a valid I.D. There is no charge for graduates of the Institute for Massage Education.
You will need to bring two full-size flat sheets, a pillow with pillowcase and a blanket.

Thinking about becoming a massage therapist?
One of the first steps in becoming a massage therapist (and eventually a student at the Institute for Massage Education) is to attend one of our free Massage as a Profession workshops. These are held on the first and third Wednesday of each month from 6 - 8 p.m. You can learn about our program, speak with instructors and students, as well as receive a tour of the building. We end each workshop by offering a neck and shoulders massage.
