We would like YOU and your beautiful project to be recognized! The Interior
Design Society of Portland is pleased to announce Portland's first interior design
awards. The Distinct Style Awards will be open to all interior designers,
decorators, and staging professionals in the Portland metropolitan area. While this event is being hosted by the Interior Design Society, membership is not required for inclusion.
The awards, presented by Contract Furnishings Mart and sponsored in part by
Parker Furniture and Sherwin-Williams, will include five award categories:
- Color
- Living
Space
- Kitchen
and Bath
- Redesign
- Staging
A "Best in
Show" award will also be chosen from the five category winners and includes a
$500 cash prize. The awards will be announced at a gala January 9, 2010
at Parker Furniture. All entrants, design partners, and press are invited
to attend.
Submissions will be compiled by Gary Paquin
from Rejuvenation and the judging will be done by San Fransisco Bay area Interior Design Society members. Pamela Sandall,
President of the Interior Design Society of Portland noted, "All judging will
be completely unbiased. We all need more publicity and entering is great
exposure for your design business."
"In the past, designers in the Portland
market have had to enter their projects in Seattle,
San Francisco,
or nationally based design contests. It is time for Portland to acknowledge their talented pool
of design professionals in the community." said Angela Todd, Vice
President of the Interior Design Society of Portland. "We have an
amazing level of creativity, talent and flair in this area." For more information, including how to enter please visit:
http://idsportland.org. Submissions will be accepted through November
30th.
The Interior Design Society was founded in 1974. The local Portland
chapter was founded in September 2009 and represents the residential design
community in the Portland
metropolitan area. Our members are comprised of interior designers,
decorators, stagers, and affiliates that work with the interior design trade.
The organization provides continuing education, quality resources, business
support and a place to collaborate to its members.
