Did you know that glossophobia (that's the fear of public speaking not the fear of shiny objects!) affects 75% of all Americans? What if this phobia could be relieved with just the click of a button?

That's the theory behind our fear-reducing new
e-newsletter "To the Point." So just sit back, click, open and RELAX! Presentations don't have to be painful.

In Praise of the Pause! Yes We Can... Stop Run-Ons and Ramblings

Barack_ObamaAs we all take pause to think about a new leader at the reins, let's think about that pause. Yes, the rhetorical pause that our new President uses so effectively. When Barack Obama pauses briefly after a point he wants to emphasize, it gives the audience time to digest what he's said and react to it. The brief silence, just like suddenly raising your voice, also reengages anyone who has drifted off.

Too often I see clients move through a PowerPoint deck like a runaway train. They are so nervous and eager to wrap up, they even talk through slide changes. The audience is unable to think about what has been said, or focus on what is being said! In fact the slide change is the perfect place for you to begin adding pauses... Presentation Tips that Save $$$ and Deliver :):):)

print_dialog#1 Print Multiple Slides per Sheet: By selecting HANDOUTS from the "Print What" pulldown in the Print Dialog Box you will print several slides per sheet of paper. Often bullet points and slides can
be easily read even with the smaller view.

#2 Print in Grayscale: This means that instead of using up all of your color inks, the printer is just using different amounts of black for each pixel - which adds up to a large potential ink and $$$ savings! Save the color prints for the final draft.

GreenPrint#3 Use GreenPrint: This program catches pesky (and $$-wasting) blank pages before they print! It even gives you the option to "print" to PDF instead of paper and provides you with a report of money, paper and greenhouse gases saved.
