The City of San Diego:
When it comes to recycling, San Diegans are making great strides. Of all the waste that was generated by San Diegans last year, 64 percent of it was recycled or reused. That's up from 55 percent in 2006, and is the most since The City of San Diego began recording this information in the early 1990's.

101 DayLEAD San Diego has been identifying, preparing, connecting and supporting San Diego's current and future leaders since 1981. Through a competitive selection process designed to ensure diversity and balanced educational opportunities, 54 enthusiastic individuals were selected for the class.  The 10-month community leadership program, often referred as a "Master's Degree" on the San Diego region, kicked off on September 17th.    Read More

EMBARK SAN DIEGO
EMBARK SAN DIEGO is LEAD's newest contribution to future leadership in the San Diego region. This program, designed for professionals just beginning to represent themselves and their company, will help launch them into civic, community, and professional involvement and engagement.

Sessions will run from February 2010 to April 2010 for a total of four full-day sessions taking place at UCSD's Extension, in Mission Valley Center.

  • Jeff Cavignac '89 was recognized with the Agent of the Year Award by the Insurance Brokers and Agents of San Diego.  He is president and principal of Cavignac and Associates.
  • Maryam Davodi-Far '04 was honored as a finalist for San Diego Magazine's "Women Who Move The City."  
  • Jon Grissom '04, a partner with Higgs Fletcher & Mack, was selected as one of San Diego Metropolitan's "40 Under 40" for devoting nearly 300 hours annually to local nonprofit, tax-exempt organizations.
