Greetings!

Welcome to the latest updates from TrainWeb.com and TrainParty.com!

TrainWeb, TrainParty, Silver Rails, and You
The staff of TrainWeb.com and TrainParty.com would like to thank each of you for signing up for our online newsletter. Whether you discovered our newsletter from having previously purchased from TrainParty.com, or from being a web visitor to TrainWeb.com, or some other method, we do thank you for your continued interest and support.

TrainWeb.com and TrainParty.com are located in La Plata, Missouri, in "Silver Rails Country" and are part of a larger Silver Rails undertaking along with the Depot Inn & Suites, the Silver Rails Event Center, the Exhibition of Amtrak History, and the new Silver Rails Gallery to build both an online railroad community and a railroad vacation destination. It is this railroad vacation destination that is being created under the banner of Silver Rails Country and the online community under SilverRails.net.

SilverRails.net has many features to keep you front and center of all the railroading action, from the comfort of home. Share your latest adventures with our blogging and photo features. Swap stories and information with other members in our forums. Promote your rail event or excursion, or just find a fun activity, with our event calendar. Unlike some railroading hobby web sites, SilverRails.net is one hundred percent FREE (and your privacy will always be respected).

For regular visitors to TrainWeb.com who are used to seeing new stories and items of railroad enthusiast interest posted there, SilverRails.net offers an even more exciting, interactive environment.  For example, new rail-related news stories are continuously posted throughout the day. You can now discuss each of those stories right from the SilverRails.net home page. If you feel there's an important story that's not getting enough attention, you can create new buzz by posting it as a blog item!

New features will be added in the future, and your feedback as a community member is always appreciated.

In addition to news specifically about railroad party products at TrainParty.com and news and features related to TrainWeb.com, this and future additions of this newsletter will also keep you up to date about the latest developments in Silver Rails Country and SilverRails.net.
Silver Rails Gallery Now Open!
Silver Rails Gallery Exterior

The new Silver Rails Gallery of railroad art in La Plata opened its doors last Saturday, March 13.  Silver Rails Gallery is a permanent space to display significant works of art (paintings, photographs, sculpture, artifacts, and multimedia works) in the canon of railroad artistry.  Proceeds from sales of original art, prints, and other gifts will benefit the American Passenger Rail Heritage Foundation.  Online sales of artwork from our artists will debut soon.

J. Craig Thorpe

Our first Featured Artist is renowned painter J. Craig Thorpe, who will join us at the opening ceremony to discuss his art as it relates to railroading's heritage and its future.

Adult guests at the opening enjoyed free pourings of local Missouri wine courtesy of West Winery and its Loco Vino: The Railroad Winery line.

Nathan Chidester from Internet radio talk show Let's Talk Trains joined us for a live broadcast from La Plata.  (The Silver Rails Memorial Library, housed within the Gallery building, was recently dedicated in part to the late Richard Hamilton, founder of Let's Talk Trains.)  Let's Talk Trains airs every Saturday from 12 noon to 2 PM Central Time (10 AM to 12 noon Pacific Time), and you can listen to previous shows at the Let's Talk Trains web site.
