Snowmobile safely on city streets!
At the January 4, 2010 Sault Ste. Marie City Commission meeting the commission voted to slightly amend the city snowmobile ordinance. The ordinance allows for snowmobile usage on most city streets. The Commission has added the portion of Marquette Avenue from the I-75 Business Spur to Shunk Road as one of the streets where snowmobiles are NOT allowed.
Allowing snowmobiles to travel on city streets has been a great benefit to area residents and visitors. Residents can now legally access the trails from their homes and visitors can ride their sleds from motels to restaurants and night clubs. In order to ensure that this benefit remains available to citizens, local laws must be adhered to. Please help us get the word out to residents and visitors alike. Click here to download a Snowmoble Rules flyer to distribute to your employees and post in your business.
Thank you. Working together, we can help keep our community a safe and enjoyable place to live and visit. |
