GREAT NEWS!  The Chamber of Commerce and Soo Coop Credit Union have joined forces to help bring more visitors to the Business Expo!

The Credit Union will be hosting their annual used car sale at the Norris Center on May 16th.  All local car dealers will be on site, bringing many of their great values with them! 

We are expecting great crowds this year as in addition to the used car sale, there is no admission charge for the public.  Get your registration in soon, May 1st is the deadline!  Chamber members pay $250 for a 10x10 and $400 for a 20x20 space.  New this year - outdoor space under a screened tent - $150.00.

The Sault Area Chamber and the Sault CVB are bringing a great training seminar to the Sault on May 19, 2009.

Staff Receives:
  • 4 hour interactive session
  • Highlights customer service using:WORLD (welcome warmly, offer to help, really knock their socks off, listen actively, directions and information)
  • Empathy exercises and role-play of customer        interactions
  • Review area attractions, hotels, restaurants and events
  • Practice giving directions to local venues
  • Participant Workbook
  • Certificate of Completion
Management receives:  pre-training information and ideas for follow-up and recognition activities.

Seminar conducted by Jane Bertsch of the Regional Skills Alliance for Hospitality and Tourism of Southeast Michigan. This alliance trained over 1,500  employees and 4,000 volunteers in preparation for Detroit's hosting of SuperBowl XL. The program was also adopted by the Detroit Institute of Arts as an orientation program for their Grand Re-opening in 2007.

Get your clubs ready...its time to think golf.  The 2009 Chamber Challenge is set for June 5, 2009 at Wild Bluff.  Shot gun start at 9:30 a.m.
