FYI...this weekend, February 20th and 21st, we will be paricipating in the San Diego Dual-Sport Riders' Anza-Borrego Desert Dash. Paul and Tony will be riding Husqvarna TE 510's at the event and look forward to seeing some of you there (hopefully on HUSKYs!!!!)
New & Familiar Faces
We would like your support in welcoming two new members to our service department team; Curtice Thom and Mike Hottman.
Curtice is a very accomplished mechanic who comes to us from Graves
Motorsports Race Team, where for the past 7+ years he was the Crew Chief
and mechanic for AMA Pro racers like Jamie Hacking, Eric Bostrom, and
Josh Herrin, to name a few. We are very happy to welcome Curtice to our
team and are confident that his knowledge and experience will be a tremendous
benefit to GP and all of our customers.
For those of you who have been around for a while, you may remember
Mike Hottman. We are pleased to welcome him back to the team as our new
Service Manager. Mike worked with us for several years, filling many
needed roles in the service department, until returning to his hometown
of Chicago, where he worked for another all-European dealer, MCC. While
in Chicago, he gained valuable experience running a high-volume service
department. After a 10-year hiatus, we are glad Mike has decided to make
San Diego his home again, and we welcome him back to the GP team and
look forward to putting all that experience to work for us.
Have no fear!!! Our former Service Manager, Grant Guffey, is still here. We are leveraging his many years of experience and wealth of parts and service knowledge and moving him to the parts department where he will support the front of the shop.
Rent-a-Ducati Special Offer
The folks at Rent-a-Ducati.com have made a very generous offer to all GP service customers. When you schedule your bike in for service and reserve one of the available Rent-a-Ducati bikes, you will receive a 25% discount on the rental, to be used either while your bike is in for service or shortly thereafter. We really appreciate the guys at Rent-a-Ducati making this offer to our friends and customers.
Ducati-Sponsored Track Day
Mark
your calendars for the exciting day of riding at the track, March 21, 2010.
We will be participating in a Ducati-Sponsored track day at California Speedway
in Fontana, CA (about 2 hours north of San Diego).
All brands are welcome! The cost is $239.
For all Ducati riders registered through GP, we will cover $40 of your registration fee bringing your cost down to $199 for the day.
Track days are divided into 3 groups: beginner, intermediate, and advanced. Track day events are a fun way to improve your riding skills in a safe closed-road environment.
For more info, visit our website or our Facebook events pages, or call 619-233-4762.
Be a Pro for a Day
We are pleased to welcome Curtice Thom to the service team, and we plan to take advantage of the vast knowledge and expertise in race bike setup as well as the many years of experience as a race mechanic that he brings to the shop.
Curtice has graciously accepted our request to have him work directly with a few of our customers to get them setup for the upcoming track day.
We are offering a total of 8 customers who are participating in the Fontana track day the opportunity to have Curtice perform a pre-track day evaluation and chassis/suspension setup, followed by hands-on tuning and guidance and the track.
This is a fantastic opportunity to have a pro setup your bike and work with you during the track day to improve your speed or just gel better with your bike. There are many people with opinions our there, but Curtices record speaks for itself.
The cost for this service will be $199, and again it is limited to 8 riders, so if you are interested, please let us know ASAP.
