ABOUT LINDA SHEETS

Arkansas artist Linda Sheets fell in love with Scratchbord 10 years ago after picking up a couple of samples in an art supply store. Since then, she hasn't stopped scratching! Linda is known for her folk art inspired Monkeys, Dogs, Birds and Still Life studies. Her work appears in galleries across Texas, Missouri and Arkansas and is in many private collections. Linda delights in showing folks how satisfying and easy scratchboard is for artists of all levels to express their ideas in simple, bold marks. Linda's workshops focus on sharing techniques and tips, both encouraging and helping to inspire participants creativity. Linda developed this series of Scratchbord designs to invite you to jump right in and give it a try. You'll be surprised how happy Scratchbord will make you!

ABOUT SCRATCHBOARD

Ampersand Art Supply Scratchbord is a professional product made with a sealed hardboard panel, coated with white clay and black ink.  Using various tools, a design is 'cut' into the board achieving an end result that resembles a woodcut, etching, or pen and ink drawing.  It's fast, versatile, fun, and instantly gratifying.   The class will consist of a brief description of the board and scratchboard history, tips and suggested techniques.  Samples, patterns for transfer and tools will be provided.  In addition we will explore adding color using various inks and acrylic paints  You will leave with a finished piece.
