Child Care Licensing Regulations Moving Forward
| The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services announced revisions to Nebraska's Child Care Licensing Regulations are approved by the Governor's Policy Research Office for public hearings tentatively set for Thursday, August 25. For the official announcement and copies of all five chapters of the draft regulations, click here.
Community Learning Center Network members were actively involved in the early stages of these revisions and are happy to see this process move forward. Tentatively two public hearings will be held during the day - 9:00am for Child Care Center, School Age Only Center, and Preschool Regulations and 1:00pm for Family Child Care Home I and Family Child Care Home II Regulations. Tentative locations are: Lincoln, Omaha, Norfolk, Grand Island, Kearney, North Platte, Gering/Scottsbluff, and Chadron. Share your perspective on these revisions by participating in this important process. If you cannot attend the hearings, you are invited to provide written testimony. Specific instructions will be included in the official announcement. Contact Kay Pinkley, Policy Analyst and Regulation Coordinator and Public Hearing Officer if you have questions. A summary of each of the five chapters will be posted on the DHHS Child Care Licensing Web Site prior to the hearings. This document will be organized by the sections in each chapter and will include the page number of the Chapter where the proposed change is located, the rationale for the change, and a summary. |
