Brookes Seeking 100 Prayer Partners--11 to go
Brookes is seeking 100 people to become a prayer partner with us.  We currently have 89.  We will send a monthly email to you with prayer requests.   We will not during this time ask for finances from you.  There may be a prayer request for funds, but you will not receive a solicitation for funds in this email.  It is strictly for prayer requests and praises.  Please join us in prayer for Brookes.  Brookes started because the Christian community of St. Louis saw a need for a Bible Training School and through the prayers and gifts of that community, Brookes was formed.

This is not a one-way street as we would like to pray for you.  You can email your prayer requests or send them through the USPS to us.  We, also, have a tab on our website where you can view prayer requests from other people.  That tab does require a password, which you can request from us.

The man who kneels to God can stand up to anything.

2011-12 Academic Year

The new Academic Year has started. While there are more students than last year with the remote class, we are down from previous years with 36 students in attendance.  We rejoice that we have 36 students and Praise the Lord for their desire to learn and study.

We do desire more students and are formulating plans to visit Christian schools and more churches this fall and spring.  Keep us in prayer for this. If you would like to see us visit your church or inform us about a school that we can visit, please notify us.  We look forward to share the opportunities that are at Brookes with prospective students and with people who don't know about the school.

You can see our Fall semester line-up of classes here.  The Spring semester will be available November 1.  Check our website, brookesbible.com, for the spring schedule after that date.

Brookes First Golf Tournament

On October 22 starting at 9 AM, Brookes is having our First Golf Tournament at Sunset Lakes Golf Club .  Would you like to be a hole sponsor?  Bring your own foursome or join a group to complete a foursome?  Click here for information about the tournament and then scroll down to the middle of the page, or call the school and ask for Dr. Jim McIntosh.  There are prizes for various items such as the longest drive, longest putt, and hole-in-one.  Join us for a great day of fellowship and fun.  This has long been a desire of Dr. Mac and, finally, becoming a reality.

For information about the golf course and directions click Sunset Lakes Golf Club above.  Looking forward to seeing you on October 22.

Facebook

For those of you that use it, have an account on it, or check for events, Brookes now has a presence on Facebook.  You can find our Alumni of the quarter on it and upcoming events.  Let us know if you like it and if there are any features you would like to see added to it.  We will periodically update it with current pictures.

Brookes Cooks
CookbookBlack Cookbook cover

The Brookes Cooks cookbook has arrived.  There are over

200 recipes in the cookbook with entries by some of the Brookes' staff; missionaries, which include Marty Zide (Midwest Messianic Center) and Matt/Ellen Bjerk (Croatia); Linda Kroll (wife of Dr. Woodrow Kroll); alumni; students; and friends of the school.  There are some fabulous recipes and you will gain very little weight by trying all of them. Laughing emoticon

Some features of the cookbook:

  •  A stand is included with the cookbook.
  • The recipes are non-continuous, which means they are on one page
  • There are tabs for each category.

It costs $20.00 and if you desire to have it shipped, the cost is $6.00 for shipping/handling.  If you desire, the cookbook is on a CD for the same cost, or the cookbook/CD together is $35.00.

Jokes & Quips-Macisms

A gentleman entered a busy floral shop.  A large sign read:  "Say it with flowers."  "Wrap up one rose, please."  he told the florist.  "Only one?" the florist asked.  "Yes, just one", the customer replied.  "I'm a man of few words."

Officer to driver going the wrong way up a one way street:  "And where do you think you are going?"  Driver: "I'm not sure, but I must be late.  Everyone else seems to be coming back."
