Dear Prayer Partner,
Prayer, it's an important part of our relationship with God and many times we struggle with this aspect of our relationship. It's time that I could be spending doing something else around the house. I'm saying this because, at times, it has happened to me. I start to pray and other thoughts enter my mind--thoughts of what I need to do that day, what I could have done better the previous day, or I need to hurry with my prayer so I can leave for work. Why are we bound by time to perform secular functions and time spent in prayer is not a priority to us? I'm writing the above because, occasionally, I have struggled with this aspect of my relationship. I know if I have struggled with it, most of you have too. I believe we have struggled with it because our thoughts are not on things above, but things on earth, Col. 3:1-2. Until our mind becomes attuned to God's, we will continue to struggle. It is a discipline and mind set where we need to improve. I would appreciate your prayers for me to develop a mind set, which is constantly on things above, not on earthly things.
A Blessed and safe day to all of you. Thank you again for your prayers for Brookes. May God's peace be with you throughout 2011.
