Prayer Requests

March 2011

Dear Prayer Partner,

Prayer, it's an important part of our relationship with God and many times we struggle with this aspect of our relationship.  It's time that I could be spending doing something else around the house.  I'm saying this because, at times, it has happened to me.  I start to pray and other thoughts enter my mind--thoughts of what I need to do that day, what I could have done better the previous day, or I need to hurry with my prayer so I can leave for work.  Why are we bound by time to perform secular functions and time spent in prayer is not a priority to us?

I'm writing the above because, occasionally, I have struggled with this aspect of my relationship.  I know if I have struggled with it, most of you have too.  I believe we have struggled with it because our thoughts are not on things above, but things on earth, Col. 3:1-2.  Until our mind becomes attuned to God's, we will continue to struggle.  It is a discipline and mind set where we need to improve.  I would appreciate your prayers for me to develop a mind set, which is constantly on things above, not on earthly things.

A Blessed and safe day to all of you. Thank you again for your prayers for Brookes.  May God's peace be with you throughout 2011.
