Next Prayer Sunday is Sept. 19 from 2:30-3:30

Dear Prayer Partner,
 
What a glorious picture of the empty cross.  Romans 5:7-9 are great verses to commit to memory.  Christ died for us, but always remember He is alive--He conquered death for us.

Do you wake up at night with something on your mind and can't get back to sleep.  That does happen to me and why do I worry?  God is Sovereign and in control.  It is our nature to worry about things--how to pay the bills, the children, water in the basement, will I lose my job, and I'm sure there are numerous others.  When I wake up at night and can't get back to sleep because I'm worrying, I have started quoting scripture.  Matt. 6:25-34 is a great one.  I started quoting that one night and didn't finish verse 27 as I fell back to sleep.  Don't worry, God is in control and He will give you strength to come through these troubled times.

 Group prayer in Spain
Praise
 
1.   Praise as we hired a full-time MLS (Master of Library Science) librarian.  She has been a tremendous asset to us in the two weeks she has been working.
 
 2.  For the enrollment this fall, even though the total head count is down, the credit hours remain virtually unchanged.
 
 3.  For the accrediting process as it is making us scrutinize how we can improve the services to our students.

4.  Praise for the almost completed Student Union.  There are a few more small items to complete.

5.  We have ceased conversations with a presidential candidate, but other opportunities have presented themselves.
 
Prayer
 
 1.  Please keep the Board of Trustees in your prayers during the continued presidential search.
 
 2.  We are having the IFCA regional at Brookes on Tuesday, September 14.  Good attendance and clarity in presentation from the speakers.
 
3.  We will be starting to put our ABHE accreditation report together.  Pray for good organizational skills and to complete it by Oct. 31.

4.  We are looking to join the St. Louis Regional Library Network, which would greatly expand resources available to our students.  We will be applying for some grants for areas in our library.

5.  The upcoming Israel trip.

6.  For a speaker for the 100th Anniversary Celebration of our first class as the one scheduled had to cancel for health reasons.
