 Greetings!

A team of seven from Evansville, Indiana, spent the first two weeks of August in Ukraine.  Saturday, the 6th, was designated Shalbesky Work Day.

One of Mulberry's sponsored foster families, the Shalbesky's, is in the process of renovating their home.  The team was just in time to help dig the foundation. You can see our tools in the picture- picks, shovels and one wheelbarrow.  It was a long day.

This family currently has ten children, including two infants.  Over the years, they have raised 25 children.  There is even one grandchild now and of course, he lives in the home also.

I can't remember seeing a group that was more tired or more happy than this bunch of Americans at the end of that day.

Now is the time to start planning a trip for next year.  This team is already picking out projects and checking the calendar.  Maybe your group would like to test your pick and shovel skills.

Please pray for the Shalbesky family.  Except for the occasional visiting team, they will be doing all the work themselves.

Don't grow weary.

The Chernov Family

 Chernov car

How do you load a family of ten into a Volkswagen Jetta?  You can see the first step here.  The Chernov family has eight children.  A family trip begins with loading the seven smaller children into the back seat.  Then Papa, Mama and teenaged big brother pile into the front seat.  It looks like a circus act.  Only no one is trying to be funny.  This arrangement works for short trips.  Visits to grandparents and family outings are not possible.

The Crossroads team has committed to raise $20,000 to purchase a used 12 passenger van.  In their first two weeks, they are already over 30% in pledges and donations.  If you would like to help with this project, just mail a donation to Mulberry and write "van" on the check.  At the rate this team is going, you need to hurry.

The Goryainov Family

Goryainov FamilyThe Goryainov family was Mulberry's first foster home.  In fact, the foster home idea was the dream of Papa Andrei.  They now have nine children.  The oldest just turned thirteen.

They were treated to a fun day and told they could select any activity they wanted. The options included a water park with giant slides and a large zoo. They chose to ride in a boat that travels up and down the waterfront and to ride in a double decker bus.  I would not have put either of those choices at the top of my list.  However, after riding with this family I can't imagine a better way to spend the day.

Please join us in praying for this family and the potential these children have to impact Crimea.

Matters for Prayer
Praises-
-The generosity of our donors made it possible to give each family a financial gift to help with back to school expenses.  This is a first for us, so it was an unexpected blessing.
-God continues to affirm our vision for the next step in Project Sasha ministry.

Requests-
-Pray for our Christian foster parents.  Forty-two children in our homes started school on September 1.
-Pray for our staff as we continue to recast our ministry.
-Continue to pray for a young lady who grew up in one of our foster families.  Her husband has abandoned her and their young son.
