| Greetings! |
The political/legal situation in Ukraine continues to amaze. After years of ministry, it is now illegal to help run-away children living on the streets. The "logic" is those children must be returned to the orphanage, their abusive home or to jail. Anyone found aiding these "fugitives" will go to jail as well.
We are discouraged by this development, but we aren't giving up. After fourteen years of ministering to street children with food, clothing, medical and legal help and Christian counseling, our Project Sasha ministry is exploring options for reaching children who have aged out of the orphanage system. These sixteen to eighteen year old "graduates" are entitled to attend local trade schools. Their unsupervised dormitories become centers for gang activity, drugs and alcohol, and prostitution.
So far, there is no law against reaching out to these teen-agers.
Please pray for our Board, our staff and our potential partners as we enter this new area of ministry. Don't grow weary.

| Foster Families | |
Mulberry's foster family program continues to be a great success. Right now, there are 48 children living in Christian homes. And, we have open applications for three more!
Unlike in the US, Ukrainian foster care is a permanent placement. The child becomes a part of the family. Upon becoming an adult and registering as a citizen, foster children often take the family name of their foster parents.
Our arrangement with local authorities allows us to select Christian parents for the program. Then we share in the support that these families would normally be entitled to receive from the government. |

Baby Lisa |
The baby in the top photo went directly from a local hopsital to the family pictured above. A hole in her heart is just the beginning of her medical issues. Because of the work being done by this family and Mulberry International, Little Lisa will grow up in this Christian home- receiving both medical and spiritual nurturing. Our hope is for her to, one day, be a Christian mama raising her children in a Christian home. We believe this ministry will permanently impact Ukraine. Please join us in praying for Lisa and the other children who will grow up in Mulberry homes. |
| Matters for Prayer |
Praises- -Project Sasha was able to touch the the lives of thousands of street children during fourteen years of ministry.
-God has given us a new vision for the next step in Project Sasha ministry.
Requests-
-Pray for our Christian foster parents. Each family has eight to ten children. -Pray for our staff as they go through this tough ministry transition. -Continue to pray for a young lady who grew up in one of our foster families. Her husband has abandoned her and their young son. |
