 Greetings!

The staff in the picture above has been given a difficult task.  This summer, they are reorganizing Mulberry's ministry to the street children of Crimea.

Over the years, these children have changed.  More are from dysfunctional families instead of orphanages.  The authorities are more determined to "control" them, so they are more wary of adults.

The children with parents and a home will come for lunch and stay as long as they are entertained.  The children who are orphanage run-aways are suspicious of anyone wanting to help and stay away.

We need two  models for reaching the two groups.  Currently, the staff is recruiting local partners and planning new strategies.  And, they have to do all of this without an increase in the budget.  Please say a prayer for these dedicated workers.

Don't grow weary.
Charles

A New Outreach

Baby twoBaby one

These two baby girls were in the abandoned baby ward of our newest hospital ministry when I visited last month.  Both are about a month old and were abandoned at birth.  Since the beginning of the year, Mulberry has provided a water heater and some new plumbing fixtures.  Believe me, that only scratches the surface of the needed repairs.

Mulberry Video

Some ministry friends in Crimea have provided us with a new video presentation.  This link will take you to the video.

My name is...

The video tells the story of three children supported by Mulberry and is seventeen minutes long.  We can provide copies of the full video or each story separately.  Let us know if you would like one.

Matters for Prayer

Praises-
-Our staff was not allowed to be counselors for the summer camps this year.  Initially, this was a disappointment.  Now, it gives them time for the ministry reorganization.
-We have added several new partners in 2011- both in the US and in Ukraine.

Requests-
-The staff has a very difficult job.  The decisions made this summer will affect their jobs and will require them to re-examaine every part of the ministry.
-Pray for the thousands of newborn babies abandoned each year in Ukraine.  While in the baby ward, the hospital has a daily budget of 25 cents for each baby.  Life gets harder when they leave.
-A young lady who grew up in one of our foster families has asked for prayers for her marriage.  Her husband has abandoned her and their young son.
