Greetings!

Everyone agreed that we tried to cram too much activity into a one week visit, but it was a very good week.  The team spent two days with Pilgrim, a day with the other ministries in Simferopol and two days with the families in Evpatoria.  Here are some highlights.

Mulberry would love to help your group schedule a visit.  Contact us.

Don't grow weary.

Mom with Children

Kristina is in drug rehabilitation.  She leaves her four year old son, Nikita, with the Pilgrim staff every morning on her way to the rehab center.  The caregiver for her three year old daughter is provided by a local church. She is very excited to have this opportunity for a new start in life.  Because of holidays, she came to Pilgrim two days last week and volunteered in the kitchen.  Pray for Kristina and her husband, who has dropped out of the rehabilitation program.
Picnic Group

The first day of the team's visit was the May Day Holiday.  Pilgrim held a picnic, complete with hot dogs, at the Simferopol reservoir.  This type of "day camp" may replace our regular summer camp this year.  The government has decided not to continue using our staff as counselors because they are not licensed teachers.  Pray for creative minds to come up with good alternatives.  Several of you generously sponsored a camp scholarship last year.  Thank you.  This year we will need sponsors for our day camp program.
Hussein with Staff

Hussein is now dividing his time between two Simferopol hospitals.  Here he is with the staff responsible for abandoned babies in his newest assignment.  There were two babies in the ward during our visit.  Both are girls about a month old.  After completing medical examinations, the hospital staff will recommend placement in one of the state institutions.  Earlier this year, Hussein was able to intervene and place one baby in a Christian foster home.  Pray for Hussein's health as he continues this work.  He has a medical condition that makes him subject to migraine headaches.
