Greetings!

Do you have your summer vacation planned?  We are working on plans for the summer of 2011 in Crimea.

The staff at Pilgrim is planning the summer camps for this year.  And, the children are hoping they get the chance to attend one of the camps.

For the past couple of years, our staff has served as the counselors for a state-sponsored camp for under-privileged children.   Each year teams from the US have attended the camps.  Because of the economy, some of our "regular" teams are skipping this year.

The staff is able to present Christian materials and activities with few restrictions.  This is always a great opportunity for us to build relationships with the same children we are trying to reach all year long.

Please say a prayer for the camp preparations.  And for our foster families, who will be planning vacations and activities as well.

Don't grow weary.

Camp Scholarships Needed

Lola and DanilThree sisters

There are always some at-risk children that the child welfare agency fails to invite to camp.  We can invite these children, but we have to pay $350 for a child to attend a two week camp.  The five children you see here all received scholarships from US teams last year and are now regulars in our ministry.
We would like to provide scholarships for ten children again this year, but we need sponsors.  This is a great way for you, your family or your bible study group to impact a child's life this summer.

Ukraine Update

The following quote comes from Sergei, a Ukrainian friend, and does a better job of explaining the political environment and its potential impact on Christian ministries, than I can.

The time is short, and we do not know for how long we will be able to preach the truth openly before our society will turn either to the extreme of a totalitarian system where everything is forbidden, or to the so-called "European values" where everything is permitted except the truth because it is "intolerant." The Good News of Jesus will never be in favor of the world - exactly as the Scripture predicts. Please keep in your prayers our commitment, steadfastness, as well as God's guidance and protection for us.

Matters for Prayer

Praises-
-Our staff has been asked to serve as camp counselors again in 2011.  This was in doubt after last year.  Some administrators complained that we weren't "qualified teachers."
-The poor economy has caused the number of children visiting Pilgrim to increase.  While we don't like the increased hardship, we do like increased opportunity for ministry.
-The Chernov family is still waiting for new additions to their home.  Children are placed by the government. There is no set timetable.

Requests-
-The Mulberry Board of Directors will meet again in April.  Pray for wisdom in addressing ministry opportunities.
-Because of the poor economy, we've lost some long-time faithful supporting partners.  New partners are needed.
