Greetings!

I'm going to risk losing everyone by quoting some statistics.

- 80% of Ukrainians live below the poverty level
- On average, Ukrainain women have 7 abortions
- 1,000 newborn babies are abandoned annually
- In 2008, 14,000 children between 18 and 36 months of age were abandoned

The numbers are so horrendous they sound exaggerated and risk being ignored.  (I checked the abortion number with three sources before I used it.)

Mulberry's focus is providing safe, Christian homes for these "disposable" children.  We currently do that in two ways: By supporting large Christian homes with as many as eleven children, and by supporting staff members willing to open their homes to children who are forced to live on the streets.

With your help and God's leadership, we now have 50 children living in seven supported homes.

Don't grow weary.
Charles

Meet Denis

Denis TeachingDenis Lonskiy is the senior member of the Pilgrim staff.

Denis has responsibility for spiritual development and presents a daily Bible lesson. He uses different forms for the lessons: games, drama and discussion. The lessons tell the children about God and teach virtues
like honesty, benevolence, and friendliness.
Denis has also arranged a sports club with different games. In winter, we have table tennis and billiards contests. The rest of the year, Denis has football (soccer), basketball and volleyball contests. Kids from the whole region come for these games. The teams wear brightly colored T-shirts for uniforms. They feel like real football players.

Denis also helps with street patrols and works with the police to find lost children.

Board Games

 Board Game
Board games are popular with the children visiting Pilgrim.  Here a volunteer leads a game of LIFE.  The game requires players to make life choices and offers an opportunity to teach valuable moral lessons.
Matters for Prayer

Praises-
-Two children have been added to the Shalbesky family.  This makes three new children for them since last fall.
-The Chernov family is anticipating new additions to their home.
-We have received some generous, one-time gifts since the beginning of the year.

Requests-
-The Mulberry Board of Directors will meet this month.  Pray for wisdom in addressing ministry opportunities.
-We lost some long-time faithful supporting partners recently.  New partners are needed.
