No, I don't understand all the ducks and rabbits, either.

Greetings!

This letter is very late.  But if you're on any of our mailing lists, you've probably heard enough from me lately anyway.  Between year-end appeals, thank you receipts and 2010 giving records, we've kept the local post office busy.

The year is starting off with new challenges that somehow feel very familiar.  The Dyetski Dom building needs major repairs.  The Project Sasha staff continues to try out new programs designed to attract street children.  And, the political and economic situation in Ukraine just keeps deteriorating.  A German corruption watchdog group, Transparency International, has ranked Ukraine's judiciary system the most corrupt in the world!

God is still in control.  And, His Gospel is being presented to those who have never heard.

I am including some pictures and reports from our Christmas celebrations.  Our parties were probably the only place that these children heard the true meaning of Christmas.

Mt Carmel Christian Church in Cincinnati has scheduled a visit the first week of May.  Hill N Dale Christian in Lexington, KY is planning a trip for October.  There are still lots of openings for your group to visit in 2011.  Contact us about scheduling a trip.

One of my goals for 2011, is to personally meet with more of you.  Just let me know when would be a good time.

Don't grow weary.
Charles

Christmas at Project Sasha

Three at PS Christmas 2010New Year at PS 2011

The following report comes from the Project Sasha Director.

December 28 through January 5th we had children's celebrations.

December 28th we had a masquerade party.  The kids wore costumes from different fairy tales. They were thrilled with the holiday and then we treated them with tasty sweets. There were 31 kids at the celebration.

December 29th we invited 3 needy families with many kids.  We gave out presents and told them about the ministry of this center.

December 30th we celebrated the New Year. We had games and a karaoke contest. All the kids participated and got presents. We had a special dinner with sweets. We had 27 kids at this celebration.

December 31st we went to three regions of the city with Father Frost and his Granddaughter (Santa and an elf.) We met kids from familes at risk and invited them to our center. Then the Father Frost and his granddaughter visited the families and gave out presents.

January 5th we celebrated Christmas in the Pilgrim. Denis gave a good explanation of Christmas. Each child got a Christmas present. Of course, we had another special dinner with all the kids and staff and parents. The atmosphere was very friendly and joyful. Each child felt the care of the Lord and His love.

Thank you very much for helping us to arrange all of these unforgettable celebrations! The kids are saying Hi to you and they also greet you with the New Year! We had 35 kids for Christmas!!!

We wish you all the best.
Respectfully, Faina.
