Bicycle Repair Station

This picture requires explanation.
A volunteer from a local church teaches bicycle repair at Project Sasha.
He believes it is important for the boys to learn some basic skills.
His dream is to find a "clunker" car for his students to rebuild.
This is his work station/class room in our garage.

Greetings!

Merry Christmas!

Yes, I remember wishing eveyone a Merry Christmas last month.  In Ukraine, Christmas is celebrated January 7th, according to the Orthodox calendar.  So the greeting is still timely.

January is always a month for reflecting on the year just completed and planning for the new year.

In 2009, Mulberry was able to complete the third unit in the Dyetski Dom building.  There are now three families and 28 children living there.  Also this year, a second Pilgrim (transitional) Home was added.  The number of children in these homes has increased from three to seven. The total children in supported Christian families has grown from 44 to 51.

Now, for the 2010 plans.  We need to move quickly to finish the fourth Dyetski Dom apartment while the Ukrainian economy is in our favor.  The cost of that renovation has fallen to $90,000. And, we are nearly half way there.

At the same time, we would like to add another Pilgrim Home this year and another ministry for abandoned babies.

All of these plans will require the continued faithful prayer and financial support of each of you.  Thanks for doing your part.

Don't grow weary,
Charles
Shameless Self Invitation
I'd like to invite myself to attend a meeting of your Sunday School Class, Bible study group, prayer breakfast, missions committee, social club or any other group that might be interested in the work of Muberry International.  We need to grow our network of friends and advocates.  It's a great ministry!  I really enjoy telling others about the work God is doing in Crimea.

Just contact me at the address below, or by phone (502) 267-1009, or e-mail cmckibben@mulberryinternational.org.
April, 2010 Discover Visit
This schedule is still preliminary and subject to change.   I plan to leave for Ukraine around the 16th of April and return at the end of the month.  Anyone with an interest in visiting Crimea is encouraged to make a visit at this time.  You can travel with me or set your own schedule.

The most expensive part of the trip will be the transportation to Simferopol. We are leaving  the schedule flexible to allow you to take advantage of airfare deals or frequent flier points.  While in Crimea, room and board will be less than $50 per day.  Mulberry will provide local transportation and interpreters.  An excursion to one of the historical sites in Crimea can be arranged if desired.
