Greetings!

Chernov "Storage"
The Chernov family is living in the library at Dyetski Dom.  You can see here how some of their belongings are being stored in the unfinished portion of the building.

I am finally moving into the 21st century, and onto Facebook.  Many of you are already there.  You can find me at Charles Mckibben (Louisville, KY.)  As soon as I figure out what I'm doing, I'll try my hand at a Mulberry page.

Our second transitional living home is now open.  Luba is providing a home for two teenage girls in Simferopol.  You can see her news below.

Don't grow weary,

News from Luba
I have a dream for each child to have a family and for all the existing families to value a child as a gift from God. I think an adaptation center (transitional living home) is a great opportunity for the children to realize their gifts, talents, start serving with these. I am also very thankful to God for my parents, who showed me the example of real, sacrificial love, mercy and hardworking character.

I am fostering a girl now. Olya is 13 years old. She is a very good student, has all A's in subjects, and participates in different school knowledge competitions. There are three children in the family, Olya is the eldest. The father lives in the family, but he is alcohol addicted and has no job.  After he gets drunk he becomes very aggravated and angry. The mother is trying to take care of the children, but unfortunately, she doesn't get good payments in the village, working in the fields. After working in the field she also has another job of helping to wash floors. The girls are trying their best to study well and get good marks. The mother of the girls is so tired of her husband being constantly drunk that she decided to divorce him. This seems to be a very long divorce process and this family needs some support right now.

I've also got another girl - Dasha, she is also 13 years old. Dasha has no father and almost no mother. Her mother went through rehabilitation, but started drinking again. They are from Sevastopol and when the mother was in rehab, Dasha was with her, but she has now abandoned Dasha. The rehab center asked us to help with the childn, because Dasha literally has no place to go other than the street. I took her in order not to send her to an orphanage. Dasha sings very well, she is very friendly, she helped me prepare the apartment where we are staying now.

Olya and Dasha - they are very good girls and we are very thankful to you for giving them a ticket to the better live. Thank you. Be blessed.

Respectfully, Luba.
