| Greetings! |
I just returned from a ten-day visit to Ukraine and the impression that keeps coming to me is Jehovah-Jireh, God Provides. Starting with Project Sasha- God continues to provide a staff that is fully devoted to serving His children. I've mentioned this before. Every time I visit the staff has changed. (Picture above with US visitors.) And every time I am convinced that this combination is the best ever. Once I mentioned to Galya, the director, how difficult it must be to deal with the constant turnover. She just smiled and reminded me that God always provides. I guess she learns faster than I do. Last year, we added a second ministry in a hospital Abandoned Baby Ward. Through April, that hospital is on pace to see twice as many babies as last year. The abandoned baby population in Sevastopol is exploding. And, God has provided. The number of foster children living in our supported families has increased 10% since the end of 2008. And God has provided space to absorb the increase even without adding a new family. Now God is providing funds to complete the next housing unit at Dyetski Dom. Don't get me wrong, God hasn't sent a check. But, He has been working to help us reach our goal.
When we started this campaign, we needed $250,000. The condition of the economy made this seem impossible. But, God specializes in the impossible. The same economic conditions that made it difficult to raise money have lowered the cost to $160,000. Using this Jehovah-Jireh math, the money we've already received and a generous matching gift, we now need only $50,000 to complete construction. God Provides.
