Greetings!

Me at Simferopol City DumpHow did April get here so quickly?  I will be visiting Ukraine next week and can't wait to see the new children, the construction at Dyetski Dom and our parents and staff .

We're busy packing bags for the trip.  There are nearly 200 pounds of shoes, socks, shirts and pants that will make the trip.  Pray that the customs officers don't decide to open any of our bags.

If you were at Mt Carmel Christian Church on March 15, thank you for that great welcome and for your financial and emotional support.  That was a great day for me personally.

That is a picture of me visiting the Simferopol city dump on a street patrol.  We always find children there.

Don't grow weary,
Charles

PS  On a personal note, Jo and I celebrated our 37th anniversary April 1.  And, yes we realized that was April Fool's Day.
Easter Greetings

I hope that everyone had a good Easter.  We had the privilege of watching our oldest grandaughter go forward at the end of the service.  She will be baptized next month, just after her eighth birthday. This Easter will stick in our minds forever.

Following are Easter wishes from Ukraine:

Piece and blessings in our Lord Jesus Christ to you,

Our whole family wants to greet you with the wonderful holiday of the Lord's Jesus resurrection. This holiday is both joy of the heart and rejoice the spirit, it's God's victory in our lives and the hope for the future. We wish you all God's strength that had broken the chain of death; love of the Lord that has come to the earth from Heaven; and the joy of the Holy Spirit that can't make our days grey with all the difficulties.

In the name of all the staff and parents here I would like to thank all of those who supports us financially and with the word of prayer. This is God's love and His mercy. We greet you all the with holiday - "Jesus is risen!"

The victory of the Lord Jesus gives us opportunity to look in the future with hope and joy. We have the desire to work and announce the Kingdom of God and His righteousness. Let those who suffer know what it means "Jesus is risen!"

We love you with the love of the Lord. Thankfully and respectfully.
Kostya, Valya, Katya, Jenya

Happy Easter! May the Lord who is risen and alive bless you abundantly!

Last night I was reading some Bible study materials and one piece of information made me think of you. You might find it a bit strange though. I'll try to explain. The author mentioned that Jesus had said the words "Do not be afraid" over 300 times. Being afraid seems to be a part of everyone here today. People fear the future. As the result they are afraid to be honest with each other, they do not trust, they do not believe there is help and hope because quite often some of us find ourselves in a situation when we want to support our neighbor but we see no way how we could afford it. However, Jesus said, "Do not be afraid!"
Why do we have to worry about the crisis and economic situation so much that it makes us downcast and sad and angry? On the contrary, we must be those who shine with hope and trust, with love and peace! And we witness this shining in all the faithful supporters of our project or many other missions which serve to bring comfort and help... This Easter evening I and Andrei are praying for you and everyone involved in children's ministry and we are praising the Father for your sacrifice and your giving to His little ones.

In Christ,
Anya

Growth!

Charles, piece and blessings of the Lord to you. I would like to share news about new children in our ministry.

Today Galina Gudvil and myself took a new girl from the orphanage - Masha. So that Galina has got 8 kids for now. The girl used to live with her mother and when she died, the girl went to an orphanage, she spent three months there.

A few days ago Galina Osipova took two new kids (a brother and a
sister) in the place of Sasha. Sasha's mother was alcohol addicted and the son lived in the street. Right now his mother is restoring and we got him back home. Two of the new kids are going through introduction week and making the decision. On Friday the decision will be made as for are they going to stay with Galya or not.  It's more probable, that they will stay. Right now Galya has got 4 kids in her care.

Chernov's family is getting ready to accept a new child in Yevpatoria.  This is due to the fact that the government insists on that. Right now they are doing the paperwork. Probably, it will be finished in just a week and the family will get a new boy. Than there will be 7 kids on the family.

These are all of our news.

Respectfully.
Konstantin
Building Update
 Chernov Children Bedroom
The construction continues at Dyetski Dom.  Kostya sent me a note earlier saying the work was being done for "less than cost."  I'm not sure what that means.  I do know that we are getting some bargains now because of the weakened local currency and the depressed construction business.

We still need to raise about $56,000 in order to complete unit three and provide the Chernov family with adequate, mold-free housing.  To donate, please indicate "building fund" on your check and mail to:
