Dear valued clients and their dogs,
Happy Valentine's Day to you and your dog! I have newsy stuff for you and a story about Buster. And of course, we all all waiting on Spring! Hopefully soon.
There will be a Pet CPR and Basic First Aid course offered at the Animal Ark Pet Resort. It is a 2 hour course, it is $37.00 and will be held two different Sunday afternoons (March 18 and March 25) from 3pm-5pm. It is a great course for all pet owners and I encourage everyone to attend. I am attending on March 18th so all regular classes are cancelled that day. On March 25, regular Sunday classes will be held upstairs. If you are interested, call the Animal Ark at 825-7387 to sign up as the classes is limited to 12 participants.
And here is a correction to last issue, Joey's Greyhound Friends of Ohio can be found at www.greyhoundfriendsohio.org Be sure to check them out. Reggie still needs a home. He's a darling and I think you will fall in love with this Valentine.
Hug your special valentine today and keep on training. See the article at the bottom for more on that.
Happy Valentine's Day!

My Friend Buster
My friend Buster was my neighbor's dog but he was everyone's favorite. He was always around, being walked by his owners a lot. He passed away a few weeks ago and he is greatly missed by all the neighborhood. He went to dog training classes many years ago with me and my Oreo. They both had their problems but did great with their classes. Buster was Buster, that was our maxim. If he decided not to move any further and just lay down for a while, that's what he did. He would get up if me or my daughter came outside. He hated: thunderstorms and nail trims. He loved: people, barking and food. And his owners. Dearly. I miss you Buster. And your big bark.

Training is a Lifelong Journey
Training isn't just a 10 or 20 week course. It isn't all about sit, down, stay and the like. It is the getting to know your dog, what they are about, what they like and don't. It's taking walks with your dog and exploring the world together. It's about your dog being a dog. And enjoying them for who they are. We can't make them into mini me's. Or make them into little humans. They are dogs and for what they are, they bring so much into our lives. Keep learning with your dog and enjoying them. Find out what they are good at, what they love and go with it. They are with us for so short a time. Love them for who they are. Relax and have fun. They do. |
