Hello Everyone,
Join us on Saturday mornings this spring for a brisk walk from the National Harbor in Oxon Hill, Maryland, across the Wilson Bridge towards Mt. Vernon, Virginia. The walking trail borders the Potomac River and offer spectacular views and historical points of interest from the National Harbor to the Belle Haven area of Virginia.
Supplement your current workout program and shape up with us. Walking is a great way to lose a few pounds and improve your health if you suffer from hypertension, elevated cholesterol levels or diabetes. Bring a friend, family member or co-worker along to enjoy the sites, walk away the pounds and destress. All fitness levels are welcome and you can walk or run at your own pace.
The Celbod Fit Club walks April thru September. The Spring walk begins on April 17th with a distance of 4 miles. By adding 2 miles each week, we will reach our September goal of 26 miles to prepare you for your first half-marathon, full-marathon or distance race!
Remember - Everyone walks at their own pace and fitness level. If you walk a little slower or cannot do the entire walk, feel free to turn around at any point and walk a shorter distance . Just walk as far as you can!

April 24th - Goal Mileage: 6 Miles
May 8th - Goal Mileage: 8 Miles
May 15th - **Riverfront Revolution 10k, 5K & 1Mile Walk/Run
May 22nd - Goal Mileage: 10 Miles
May 29th - Goal Mileage: 12 Miles
June 5th - Goal Mileage: 15 Miles

Quick Driving Directions:
Where I-295 meets I-95/I-495 south of Washington, DC. Follow the exit signs for National Harbor Avenue/Marina. Make a right turn at the first traffic light onto Waterfront Street. Make the 1st right turn onto National Plaza. At the stop sign, make a right turn into the Marina parking lot.
Parking Meters:
All Parking meters and parking lots are monitored and enforced 24x7. All must pay to park. Parking meters accept coins and credit cards. Share the cost of parking by carpooling with friends, family or co-workers.
Parking Lot/Meter Fees:
$3 for 1 hour; $4 for 2 hours; $5 for 3 hours; $6 for 4 hours. Parking lot payment kiosk accepts cash and credit cards.
Free Parking:
Following signs for National Harbor Boulevard towards Oxon Hill. Cross Oxon Hill Avenue and park in National Harbor Business Office parking lot. This is about a 1-mile walk down to the Marina to meet the walking group.
Warning: Expect a big fat ticket if you choose to park illegally or don't feed the meter!
In the event of rain, please use your best judgement. We do not walk if it is raining hard.
Make sure you wear comfortable clothing suitable for walking, and your walking/running shoes are in good condition. I highly suggest wearing a heart rate monitor to track your heart rate, calories and time spent in training zones.
Bring water, gatorade, energy bar, towel, ipod/mp3 player, sunvisor/hat, sunglasses, sunscreen and pouch for keys and cell phone. Bring your knee brace and muscle/joint lubricants and an ice pack if you need it. Please DO NOT wear sauna suits or bring hand-held weights.
