IN FOCUS: June 2010
Numbers can be slippery, tricky, rascally things. So, in this edition of our newsletter, we offer resources to help you get a hold of them. First of all though, one number that we really like: according to the Kauffman Foundation, entrepreneurial activity increased to its highest level in 14 years in 2009 despite the recession. African-Americans and older Americans experienced the greatest increases in business creation activity for the year among demographic groups in the study. Overall, the 558,000 businesses created each month in 2009 marked a 4% increase over the previous year.
With those figures as our inspiration, we are pleased to offer upcoming programs on bookkeeping, business plans, and management, as well as other resources to keep you afloat in the sea of numbers. |
