Letter from the Editor
Building the Multigenerational Movement
My deepest thanks to all the members of the Youth Caucus for making GA 2010 a huge success! Your commitment and leadership make me incredibly proud. For all of you who were not at General Assembly or did not follow it online, I hope you'll read through this issue of our newsletter to see the outcomes of a number of questions addressed by our annual meeting of congregations. This year delegates to GA were asked to vote on a number of very challenging issues. I was so happy to see youth rise to the microphone throughout floor debate on a number of critical votes. It was truly moving to witness the Youth Caucus' unity as a group as they silently processed through the hall and stood behind their speaker. It was incredible to witness amazing leadership of our faith in Youth Caucus and witness multigenerational community in action. I wish all of you a wonderful summer. We have some great themes coming up for our fall newsletters, so stay tuned! In faith,
Erik B. Kesting UUA Youth and Young Adult

JustWorks Camps, participants
work directly with people in local communities on direct-service
projects,
learning about human-rights issues firsthand. Short-term (usually

projects help participants examine and understand the root causes and
damaging
effects of injustice, with an eye to promoting intercultural
understanding.

poverty,
discrimination, and racism in their own communities. Usually ages 16+
(varies).
Travel - Unitarian Universalist Service Committee (UUSC) Civil Rights Journey An inspiring intergenerational trip that takes you to sites of significance in the U.S. civil rights movement. Participants travel by bus from Atlanta, Georgia to the historic cities of Birmingham, Montgomery, and Selma, Alabama. Participants will meet and hear directly from some of the courageous people who worked to desegregate schools, register new voters, and bring an end to racial discrimination in the United States. Along the way, learn about the progressive, nonviolent organizing techniques used by civil rights activists and how they are still being used today. (14+)
