Please Take a Moment to Complete Our Patron Survey
Library Assessing Branch Schedules, Seeks Input from Patrons |
|
It has been six months since last summer's budget crisis resulted in reduced hours for the OPL's branches, and the Library is in the process of evaluating the effectiveness of the current branch schedules. The Library hopes to get input from the public, to find out how well the current branch schedules serve the needs of library patrons. To that end, the Library is conducting a patron survey, which can be found by clicking here: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/SK87GV2
In the current budget situation, increasing branch hours is not an option. Branches must remain open five days a week only. Currently, all branches are open Tuesday through Saturday, and closed Sunday and Monday. The Library hopes to assess whether some branches can better serve the community by changing schedules without increasing the hours of operation.
Please take a minute or two (at the most) to take the survey. Thank you!
Hard copy surveys are available at all Library locations. |

Last Chance to Catch Access to Life
AAMLO's Gripping Photo Exhibit Closes Feb. 27 |
Time is running out to catch AMLO's Access to Life exhibit, featuring images that chronicle the transformative effect that access to free antiretroviral drug treatments is having on AIDS patients around the world. The exhibit, which enjoyed a much publicized opening on December 9, will remain on view through February 27.
Working in partnership with the agency Magnum Photos to create Access to Life, the Global Fund sent an international team of eight photographers to nine countries in the fall of 2007, and for a second visit four months later. Their aim was to document the dramatic impact of treatment on more than 30 individuals and their families. By telling these stories through photographs, text and multimedia pieces, the Access to Life exhibit graphically documents the positive impact that free antiretroviral drug treatment is having not only for the individuals portrayed, but on the lives of millions of AIDS patients around the world. Call 510-637-0200 for information.
