Green School Update
Greetings!

This past year has flown by and we here at Waukesha County have some exciting new changes to our programming for the 2009-2010 school year.  Due to your status as a Waukesha County Green School, we wanted you to be one of the first to know about these changes.
Kids with Globe New "Easy Being Green" Presentation Series
A new series of free and engaging presentations are now available.  Different presentations for Kindergartners through 6th graders build upon each other as well as your school's curriculum.  Presentations vary in length and cover topics such as natural resources, waste reduction, recycling, soil, compost, energy conservation, and sustainability.  Optional extension activities include service learning projects and water education.  A brochure describing each presentation in more detail will arrive in your mailbox shortly.  Can't wait? Visit our website to learn more about these presentations.  Priority registration is now available for Green Schools scheduling the entire presentation series.
DEET Homepage Graphic New Website
Don't miss out on our new and improved website for educators.
Find programs, presentations, and curriculum on a wide variety of topics for a wide variety of disciplines.  While at the website, be sure to sign up for our bi-annual newsletter for teachers, The Environmental Educator.

Recycling Traveling Trunk Pic New Traveling Trunks
We have revamped all of our traveling trunks to include new, standard based activities.  We are also constantly adding new trunks.  Check out our growing list of trunks including our brand new completely electronic trunk on paper recycling.  This trunk works well as an extension to the L.E.A.F. curriculum or as a supplement to 4th grade teachers covering Wisconsin.
Please keep your eyes peeled for our "Easy Being Green" Presentation Set brochure to share with other staff.  Due to the growing popularity of our programs, we want to make sure Green Schools have the first chance at scheduling these exciting, standard-based presentations and educational materials for next year.

Sincerely,
