Happy  May!!

I trust you are enjoying the May flowers ... both in your home and at work. What seeds did you plant that are now blooming?

I am putting the finishes touches on my new website - please forgive the shorter than usual newsletter.  I'll let you know when it is READY....stay tune for the announcement.

Productivity

Use any of these that will help you to "be on top of your game":

  • Do a log of your behavior to spot where you may have some 'weak points' - for a week.
  • Assign specific time blocks to work on projects that require concentration.
  • Use a planner or a system - either paper or electronic 'that you will use'. With paper planner - rename the tabs (if needed) to what you need for them to be, so that you will use the instrument.
  • Leave time for interruptions - they are going to happen!
  • Close your door when you absolutely need to work without interruption.
  • Let voicemail work for you.  Turn off the 'instant message'; radio; I-pod and TV.
  • Check email and Social Media sites at specific times.  Perhaps ~ schedule 15 minutes every 3-4 hours.  Look for the 'hot' items.
  • Plan your phone calls and try to make them in the morning - less likely to get hung up in the 'press a # for this...' syndrome!
  • Either - end your day with 3 tasks to target on the next work day; or take time first thing upon arrival to set your day - again, identify 3 tasks to accomplish.
  • Do the hardest thing first.

  2. Call Mom or Dad and check-in
  3. Wash your cat's or dog's bowl
  4. Write a thank-you note

"The secret of getting ahead is getting started.  The secret of getting started is breaking your complex overwhelming tasks into small manageable tasks, and then starting on the first one".
