Chodesh Tov Tammuz

Did you receive Mattan Torah during Sivan? Are you ready for the emotional energy of Tammuz? Are you ready for the healing energy of Tammuz which is the competion of the work of Iyar and Sivan. Tammuz is the 4th month of the Hebrew Calender as well as the 10th. If you are confused by this write me an email.

As the 10th it means manifestation. Yet there is "no Holiday" in Tammuz - so what is going on. During the month of Tammuz and flowing into the following month of Av, we have a unique period of the calendar referred to as "Three Week Period". This starts on the 17th day of Tammuz and ends of the 10th of Av and includes the day known as Tisha B'Av. This year the 3 week period starts on July 20 and ends on August 11.

The 3 week Period has some similar rituals to the Omer period as well as some unique Kavenah recomended. Please see below!

The energy of Tammuz is the enegy of the Astrological sign of Cancer or "the Crab". The energy of Tammuz is essentially emotion. What is emotion. Ultimately it is going to change and therefor it is an illusion. Why did HaShem create us with emotions? Want to know the answer? Think about it and send me your answer - this is a way to start your learning about Kabbalah.

The letters of the Month of Tammuz are the Chet and the Taf. The Taf (the last letter in the Hebrew Alef Bet) created the planet MOON which has no light of its own. The Chet which means a Sin creates the astrological sign of Cancer which is the animal called crab.

The word Tammuz is spelled in Hebrew Taf Mem Vav Zion. I refer you to the letters that created the planets Mercury in Sivan is a Zion. The letter that created the Planet Venus in Taurus is the Vav. The word Tam spelled Taf Mem is a word that means complete.Therefore during the month of Tammuz we have an opportunity to complete the Vav and the Zion together into the Chet. In the letters written in the Torah - A Chet is made of the Vav on the right and the Zion on the left with a small caret shaped house above connecting the two. When we connect the Vav which is Gematria 6 and the Zion which is Gematira 7 we complete the Gematria of 13 (the Gematria of Echad (One))which is Ahava,and Deaga, which means Love and Caring. During the month of Tammuz we have the spiritual chance to bring unity. This can never be done by intellect alone but must always include our opportunity of unifying the heart and mind together. The mind representing intellect and the heart representing emotion.

The potential downside to the month of Cancer is the emotions get out of hand as represented by the building of the Golden Calf. There is a connection to Why this month is called Cancer like the disease as well. The Kabbalist teach (unknown yet to western or eastern science) that all Cancers in Human Beings have thier seed level (start) in the month of Cancer and no other month.

Yes i know this is very powerful information. Yes i know that it is difficult to swallow. Does it really matter when the Doctor says I am sorry to tell you the diagnosis is the Big C - Cancer that you know when the Tumor started? I have taught this information for a number of years and always been accosted for teaching it - but know i have had the experience of the diagnosis. I can tell you first hand it is important to know this information because without knowing the seed level one can not utilize the tools of Tshuvah to eternally remove the Tumor on the spiritual level. Yes the Doctor can cut out the cancer as he did with mine. Yet many times it comes back or western medicine treats it from the fear that it will return. If you know the spiritual cause the physical does not have to return unless you choose to not change yourself. As is always the case - we have free choice.

The cure of Cancer is for the 30 - 40 day period of Tammuz ending on the 10th of AV at noon is very simple! You know the song you know the refrain just keep repeating it to yourself and make sure you "JUST BE HAPPY"! The cure for the disease Cancer is too be Happy during the month of Cancer when things reverse themselves. When things look bad but turn out good - be happy. When things look good but turn out bad - be happy. A difficult process when the cosmos is pulling us in all those emotional roller coasters. Yet BE HAPPY!

Everyone knows that the prophets tell us the Jewish Nation will continue until the Maschiach arrives - they do not tell us individually what will become of each of us. Perhaps these statements only apply to the Nation and not to each of us.
Why does Jacob have 12 sons which become the 12 Tribes? Why does the Talmud and Zohar explain the relationship between each Tribe and each Jewish Month - which corresponds to the Astrological Signs?

Tammuz Energy

The Energy of Tammuz is emotion and change! This month we have the opportunity to heal our vision as well.

Our emotions and reactions will run high this month. The planet controlling this month is the Moon which Kabbalisticly is usually considered Malchut or Manifestation. The major trait of the Moon is that it has no light of its own but must receive everything from the Sun. This gives us a hyper sensitivity to being able to "see" the true world. The world as it is not how we want it to be. Use this tool to begin the process of Tshuvah. The first step is to see what needs to be changed. This is what will come into your life during Tammuz.

Tammuz is connected to the sign of the Crab. One of the interesting aspects of the animal called Crab is that they are unable to move directly forward. They must move from side to side in order to get where they want to go. Keep that in mind as one traverses through the month.

The letter that created the Moon is the Tav. The last letter of the Alef Bet. This letter can be made from a Dalet (a doorway) by adding a Nun which represents the number 50. The Tav is actually the doorway to the 50 Gates of Understanding when we realize (look at the shape of the Taf with its large foot going off to the side - continuing the direction of the Alef Bet) that even as it is the last Letter its foot hints to the new beginning. This was supposed to be the manifestation of the Torah -40 days after Sinai on the 17th of Tammuz. Unfortuneately we manifested the Golden Calf instead. The first time in History a Torah Scroll was burned on this day as well. Of course by a descendant of Esav - the Roman Emperor. Also don't forget that the beginning of the end of both Temples start on the 17th of Tammuz according to Tradition.

Letting Go - of the illusion that is our emotions. Remember HaShem gave us emotions for a reason - but that is not to always act upon our feelings. Some feelings our intuition - Some feelings are illusion. This month helps us see the difference.

Tammuz Holidays

Most people don't consider the 17th of Tammuz a Holiday because it is a day ordained by our Sages as a Fast Day. Yet this was the day that we were to manifest the true value of the Torah. Bila HaMavet HaNetzach. Death will be swallowed up forever.

If one is open to see the Truth - than one will fast on this day in order to Manifest the limitation of the physical and connect more strongly to the spiritual. Or one can continue with the same ritual that has not worked for 2000 years. We can continue the illusion that it is the "other" Nations that are anti semitic and not recognize our own involvement in this chaos.

Please see below for the special Kavenot for the 3 week period. It can save your life. It also is reccomended that for the 3 weeks from the 17th of Tammuz until the 10th of Av one should not go near natural bodies of waters like oceans, lakes, streams, or rivers.

Reincarnation

Interested in reincarnation?

Rabbi Issac Luria teaches that Moshe is the reincarnation of the son of Adam called Hevel or Abel. Actually Hevel has 3 levels of soul - a Nefesh, a Ruach, and a Neshama.Moshe was the reincarnation of all 3. He corrected the 3 aspects of the Chet between Cain and Hevel. Cain reincarnated into 3 different people. The Nefesh of Cain incarnated into the Egyptian that Moshe killed as the cause of him leaving Egypt. This Nefesh of Cain had no level of Good as the Torah expresses when it says that Moshe looked right and left and saw no one.

The Ruach of Cain reincarnated into Korach. This is learned from the relationship of the Gematria of Moshe being 345 and Hevel being 37 and Korach 308. 308 - Korach plus 37- Hevel equals Moshe - 345. This is why the Tikune between Moshe and Korach has to do with the sacrifice. This is what was the upsetting event for Cain. Hevel's sacrifice was accepted but Cain's was not. Why? Because Hevel brought the best of his physicality while Cain did not. Korach's passion corrected Cain's mistake! yet just as Cain was swallowed up by the earth so was Korach!

Yitro or Jetro was the reincarnation of Cain's Neshama. His jealousy from Hevel having 2 wives while he had only one. This was one of the reasons for Cain killing Hevel. When Yitro gave his daughter Ziporah to Moshe - this Tikune was corrected. This is why Yitro could leave the Jews and return to Midian after the incident with Korach because all levels of the Tikune between Cain and Abel were corrected.

Jewish Meditations

Check out this section each month for Kavenot and information on how to Pray/Meditate more effectively!

During the 3 week period Rabbi Issac Luria reccomends 5 specific meditations that allow one to veil the energy of HaShem as a protection shield because during Tammuz and Av the natural protection shield is not working. That is why there are specific ritiuals and actions to do during this 3 week period. I highly reccomend one utilize the attached link 3 Week Kavenot to find out what those meditations are all about!

Generally, during the 3 week period we must veil the strength of the Light because we may not have the vessel to handle it. If the vessel is not strong enough it breaks - which means chaos enters your life. By veiling the strength of the light so that we can handle it - we do not have to experience chaos during this 3 week period. Try it weather you say the Amidah and use the Kavenot within the Amida or just meditate on the Names at least once per day during the 3 week period you will find it beneficial.

Gematria Korner

Gematria is the study of words in Hebrew that have a similar number value. This gives us greater insights into our selves as well as our universe.

Noritariken is the substitution of Hebrew letters within a word. An Example of this is the word Mitzva spelled Mem Tzadi Vav Hay. Our sages explain that when one substitutes a Yood for the Mem and a Hay for the Tzadi under the ATBASH method of letter substitution one now sees the word Mitzva spells the Tetragramaton spelled Yood Hay Vav Hay. This teaches that a Mitzava is actually a connection to HaShem and not necessarily a command from HaShem. In honor of the potential healing of our vision during Tammuz i am giving you this "Chidush on our Torah". I have not seen this teaching anywhere else in my studies.

I have always wondered why (when each letter of the Torah is so precious) so many times in the Torah we have the phrase or verse "Vayomer Adonai El Moshe Lamor". Two words for speech is used in this phrase. Why could not HaShem reduce the number of words or give us a code that would allow us to not have to read this same phrase so many times. What is the energy of this phrase and why is it sometimes a stand alone verse and other times part of a longer verse. What can we learn from all of this.

There are 5 words in this phrase - one for each of the 5 worlds.

While not all of these questions have answers yet, I applied a Kabbalistic technique referred to as Reshit Otyot and Sof Otyot. Beginning Letters and Final Letters to "see" some answers.

The beginning letters are Vav Yood Aleph Mem Lamed. The gematria of these letters is 6+10+1+40+30 = 87. This is same Gematria as Elokim plus the Colel. This means it is above Nature. What else has this Gematria - the first word of the Esser Debrot which is Anochi when fully spelled with the Vav. Essentially we learn that this phrase has a related energy to the Esser Debrot.

The final Letters are also telling. They are Resh Hay Lamed Hay Resh. A sequence that is a mirror of itself. The Gematria of these Letters is 440. The word Truth Emet has a Gematria of 441. this phrase with the Colel is truth. Everytime we see/hear this phrase we strengthen out connection to Truth - The Word of HaShem !

What else can be learn from this end letter sequence? The first two letters form the word mountain in reverse. The middle letter is a Lamed which means teacher. the last Letters spell mountain also. The phrase becomes a mountain teaches a mountain. The word Har or mountain in Kabbala is a code word for the Patriarchs and other Tzadikim. In the AtBash Noritariken Har becomes Tzadi Bet. Translation is "in a Tzadik. From this we learn that a Tzadik teaches our mountains or Our mountains teach theTzadik.

I find all of this fascinating. I hope you do also.

Understanding Ourselves Thru Our Names

This month i am going to give some insights into the Name Korach and Hevel.

Korach is spelled Koof Resh Chet. the first two letters spell the word Kar which means cold. the Chet can be the word for Sin when spelled incompletely (without the Aleph) or it can be the Number 8 which represents the spiritual above the heavens.

Thus Korach is "the Cold 8". The spiritual without passion or the mind without heart. This is not a name to give to a child as one can readily see.

Hevel is spelled Hay Bet Lamed. It has the letters that when rearranged spell the word "the heart". It is also a word that means breath. We can not live without our breath nor without our heart. We need our passion and our Voice which is powered by the Breath.
