Welcome to all the new Illuminaries!
Graduations, Weddings and Father's Day are events associated with June. The Summer Solstice also occurs o/a June 21. The sun is at its most powerful and appears to stand still in the sky. The sun is celebrated in many traditions at summer solstice; from fire dances, bonfires to ritual bathing. It's also a celebration of the Earth as Mother Goddess at her most abundant, the feminine and the living natural world.
Summer Solstice coincides with the Sun's egress into Cancer, the water cardinal sign of the mother, nurturing and family. It's a spirited time, when solar light is radiant and the feminine energies are in abundance too.
For those living in harmony with nature's cycles, its the season to harvest herbs and honey. The full moon in June (June 26) is the Honey Moon.
In what ways will you celebrate this season, this year's summer solstice? |

| When Everything is Changing
by Harriet Tubman Wright
We are living in times of profound change within and outside us. The pace of change is rapidly accelerating as well. Whether we consider the changes good, bad or ugly, unprecedented change is occurring right before our eyes. We can't stop it! The only thing we can do is change our attitudes about and feelings toward change.
In his book, When Everything Changes, Change Everything, Neale Donald Walsch recommends Nine Changes That Can Change Everything. They are primarily mindset changes which he calls Mechanics of the Mind and spiritual change which he calls System of the Soul. Mechanics of the Mind and System of the Soul are two handles of the same tool that we can use to embrace change in an empowering way.
Think about a change that is occurring in your life right now. How are you dealing with it? Are you:
-
sticking your head in the sand, hoping it will pass over you and go away?
-
fighting and resisting, in an effort to hold onto what's familiar and secure for you?
-
in prayer and meditation on it?
-
depressed, paralyzed by overwhelm or just confused about what you can do?
May I suggest something that may sound unbelievable, impractical or just revolutionary to you? May I suggest that you change your idea about change itself? Consider for a moment the truth that All Change is for the better. Let me repeat, All Change is for the better. When we accept that all change is for the better and in fact that all change is for our own good, we can see that change is NOT a DISruption, but an eruption. It is life erupting into fuller bloom. We see that change is NOT a break in the flow, it IS the flow. We see that change is NOT a shift in direction, it IS the direction itself in which all life moves. We see that change is NOT an alteration in the condition and circumstance of our lives, it IS the condition and circumstance of our lives.
How many of you have experienced something that you considered the worst thing that could possibly happen, as it was happening? However as time went by, you realized that it was indeed the best thing that ever happened to you. Again, let's look at something that is changing in your life, a change that you're dealing with now. What if you change your idea about change? What could you say to yourself that would support your new idea about change?
-
Change is a natural and necessary part of the life cycle.
-
Without change, nothing is living or growing.
-
What does this change have to teach me?
-
How can I embrace this change with a positive frame of mind and heart?
-
In what way can I simply go with the flow?
The next time you are facing change in your life, rather than ignoring, resisting, or fighting it, remember that all change is for the better. All change is for your good. The only constant in life is change. Adapting to and flowing with change is how we grow. He or she who learns to change, becomes the change and ultimately triumphs in life. Accept, enjoy and embrace change.

Assessment and Adjustment
As we approach the midway point of 2010, it's a good time to reflect on our progress toward intentions that we set at the start of the year.
- Do you remember your intentions or goals?
- Which ones have you manifested or achieved?
We usually begin the New Year enthusiastically, confident that we'll do a better job fulfilling our dreams. Yet, "life happens" and we allow ourselves to be distracted by other people's agendas; our partner, sibling, parent, boss...or we're confronted with an unexpected trauma such as a car accident, job loss or family death....or we blame external circumstances like the economy, the government and maybe even the weather for our status.
Or, we simply procrastinate...or worse yet, quit!
But the journey is not over and we've not reached the finish line. Indeed, there's still time to assess, adjust and renew our efforts.
I set some very ambitious intentions for myself in 2010. So far I can gratefully mark, completion for some, progress on others and recharge my batteries to work on the rest.
Does the idea of revitalizing yourself and your efforts to move forward with your intentions with support, camaraderie and accountability, resonate with you?
If so, please consider joining me to:
