| Welcome Summer & Creative Play |
The exact summer solstice date varies from year to year, but usually occurs between the 20th and 24th of June. This is the day the sun reaches its apex. Summer Solstice is the longest day and shortest night within the calendar year. This time is considered to be magical and spiritual. In ancient time, it was celebrated centering on the life-giving force of fire and light. Villagers built and tended large bonfires throughout the night, singing, dancing and chanting. They stayed up all night to greet the dawn. The day is still celebrated throughout the world, most notably in England at Stonehenge and Avebury, where thousands gather to welcome the sunrise on the Summer Solstice.
How are you acknowledging this season's change?
Creative Play is the theme for the July - September 2008 Salon Series, which focuses on the creative process from intuitive art making and play to reconnect with your innate creativity; creating altars to support life changes, and learning tools to create greater serenity and balance in your life.
Therefore, you are encouraged to let go of the busyness, demands and stresses of life to play. That's right, you have permission to play___ and discover how much fun you'll have creating, releasing, trusting and laughing!

The Wright Resort celebrated Summer Solstice with a Mid-Year Check-In Tune-Up for participants in the January - June 2008 Salons. In the spiorit of celebration and support, attendees were asked to share wins and successes, describe their intentions for July - December 2008, and share any challenges for which they wanted support. The gathering was a great way to reconnect and recommit with like-minded friends by recharging our batteries to continue manifesting our dreams and desires. Why not consider doing your own mid-year self assessment, looking back at the achievements of the first half of the year, declaring your intentions for the remainder of the year and celebrating!
"Exhilerating, empowering, divine, so much fun" were some of the words used to describe the Mothers, Daughters, Sisters Salon convened by Seva Madison of Devi Global Enterprises and Harriet Wright of TWR in May. Enthusiastic participants quickly bonded through sharing stories, learning about qualities of The Goddess, and experiencing the energy of Kuan Yin and Lakshmi through ritual; rebirthing into our own Goddess selves, and finally playing and eating together. The letting go, profound awareness and ritual gave way to a magical and joyous celebration. Needless to say, a Goddess-Good Time was had by all!
The annual retreat of TWR Advisory Team took place in April. Advisory Team members had an opportunity to get better acquainted, share their visions for TWR July-December 2008 Salons, clarify their own interests and ways to continue contributing to the growth, marketing and success of TWR.
TWR collaborated with Advisory Team member Pamela Sims of Financial Independence TV.com to present Financial Independence Naturally, An Introduction. Practices designed to help participants reclaim their natural state of abundance and develop an action plan in alignment with their purpose, strengths and gifts were presented. This was followed by a 4-week teleclass enabling participants to delve deeper into an embodied approach to manifesting what they want. |

I love freedom, especially the diverse opportunities I've encountered since retiring. During the Spring I took a class called, 'Telling Your Story with Technology', through which I produced my first YouTube Video, Sacred Spaces in Busy Places. Although there are ways I can improve my first effort, I overcame some of my techno-phobia and look forward to my next YouTube foray.
In addition to completing the Double Your Practice training in early May. I took the Millionaire Mind Intensive in San Francisco with Peak Potentials founder T.Harve Eker. What a phenomenal program for change. I'm excited and committed to continue the training and apply it to enrich my personal and professional life. Expect to hear more from me about the Millionaire Mind Intensive and learn more now by going to: www.peakpotentials.com
In June, I completed the 2nd week of the Certificate Program in Expressive Arts for Healing and Social Change. Although we continued our work with movement, clay, painting and ritual, we also practiced person-centered counseling with expressive arts. In doing so, our group connected more authentically and compassionately as a community.
Edward's achievements as a high jumper this season have made our entire family proud. He was featured on the cover of the Spring 2008 Cal Sports Quarterly with an extraordinary 4-page article and great photos inside. He is now diligently preparing for the Olympic Trials to take place in Eugene, OR. We're cheering him on to even grander heights as he competes among America's athletic elites. Please send him good energy and prayers! |
