Greetings!
Silvernail Consultant Services wishes you and your family a Happy New Year and may it be a healthy and prosperous year!
Mark Twain once said "Twenty years from now I may be more disappointed by the things that I did not do than by the things I did do. So I then jump at life's opportunities... I choose to sail away from my safe harbor. I choose to catch, that wave of opportunity."
So in 2012, I will Explore. Dream. Discover. Will you?

2012 New Year Positive Psychology Blog
I believe that Positive Psychology's primary focus is on what people do right to obtain and maintain optimum happiness so I strive to implement things in my life which will lead to greater personal fulfillment. I am continually grateful for the little blessings in life. Positive psychology tactics help me to promote factors that allow me to thrive and flourish by encouraging me to avoid stuck points and pitty pot I choose not to be preoccupation with repairing the worst things but to place a greater emphasis on discovering and building upon my positive qualities. In return I get the results I want. Positive attracts positive!
The discipline of positive psychology is primarily focused on the promotion of the good life. The good life refers to those factors that contribute most predominately to a well lived life. Qualities that define the good life are those that enrich our lives.Seligman (2002) defines good life as a combination of three elements: Positive connection to others or positive subjective experience; Positive individual traits and; Life regulation qualities.
Positive Psychology is focused on the following:
- It takes interest in subjective experiences such as subjective wellbeing/happiness, flow, joy, optimism and hope.
- It has an interest in the thriving individual, paying particular attention to character strengths and virtues such as courage, perseverance, open-mindedness and wisdom.
- It aims to identify, study and enhance those qualities that improve on the positive subjective experiences and adaptive personality traits of individuals (Robbins, 2008).
Robbins, B.D. (2008). What is the good life? Positive psychology and renaissance of humanistic psychology. The Humanistic Psychologist, 36, 96-112.
Seligman, M.E.P. (2002). Authentic Happiness: Using the new positive psychology to realize your potential for lasting fulfilment. Sydney: Random House Australia.
What will you do today to attract positive energy into your life?

Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Guide
The result of prenatal exposure to alcohol ranges from Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (FAS), the leading cause of mental retardation, to other fetal alcohol effects, which can cause lifelong disruptions in cognitive, linguistic, and social development. Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD) is the term now used to describe this range of results. Florida's health care, education, juvenile and adult justice systems face significant challenges in addressing the needs of individuals with FAS and Fetal Alcohol Effects (FAE) and their families.
