Tahoe Bike Challenge Continues
The Tahoe Bike Challenge began Monday, May 24 and will continue to Friday, June 4. Everyone is challenged to ride their bike in lieu of of driving the car to work, school or recreating about the Basin. For every mile you ride your bike, one pound of carbon is prevented from entering the atmosphere from the emission of a motor vehicle. And, bicycling prevents fine particles from being airborne from vehicle traffic and landing in the Lake and diminishing water clarity.
Go to www.TahoeBike.org to register for the Challenge - log your activities and gain chances fo win a variety of excellent prizes each day.

We are a Community of Collaborators
The Bike Challenge, Parade & Festival would not be possible without the generous support and collaboration by a variety of key organizations and businesses who see that bicycling is a way to help us move toward a more healthy and sustainable Tahoe.
Here are the major collaborators:
Tahoe Regional Planning Agency, Tahoe Metropolitan Planning
Organization, El Dorado Community Foundation, Nevada Dept. of Transportation, California Tahoe Conservancy, Barton Health, League to Save Lake Tahoe, Heavenly, Lakeside Beach Grill, Northstar and Sierra at Tahoe, Bike The West, Lake Tahoe Media Group, and Entersport Marketing.
And special thanks to our media sponsors who have significantly helped to distribute our message: Tahoe Daily Tribune, K-TAHOE AM 590/96.1FM, and Tahoe-TV.
There are many more companies and people to thank and we will be doing that later, but they are the Coffee Stops, Prize Givers, and volunteers.
Thank you all for helping make these events successful. Please visit our collaborators and thank them personally. They would love to hear from you. |
