Join Us and We Can Accomplish More!

You can see by some the highlights listed above how a small group of dedicated individuals can help make measureable contributions in our community.  Imagine want we could accomplish when you and your friends are members and participate as volunteers in one of our existing programs or spearheading a project that you are passionate about.

An important area of interest to the Coalition, and maybe you too, is to help organize mountain bike advocates in getting their voice heard and help facilitate the opening and maintaining of more native surface trails around the Lake.  Can you help?  Let us hear from you.

Now with the Coalition's incorporation structure and soon to be granted tax exempt status, we will be able to solicit a variety of grants in the areas of public health, education, trail building, and campaigns promoting non-motorized transportation.

Dear Tahoe Bike Buddies:

The current state of the economy has many of us revaluating our priorities and looking at the options available to us for nourishing our spirit, sustaining our commitments, and balancing the needs of community, economy and environment.   It is an adaptive process to changing realities.  And, in this process openings for looking at the outcomes from our patterns and behaviors become more revealing and informative.

As I look around and see some of the planning and actions being taken by our local agencies and large corporations, I can't help but feel a bit of satisfaction and affirmation that what we have always known to be true and committed our efforts to is that Tahoe is an All Year-round Playground and that cycling plays an increasing and valuable role in our sustainable future.

In the following E-Newsletters, you will be learning more about how our region is embracing cycling as a strategic direction and how your Lake Tahoe Bicycle Coalition plays a key role in helping move the region toward becoming a world-class bicycle destination and a more connected bike/ped friendly community.  You will also learn about needs, opportunities, and requests for your participation in helping us and others build more bike facilities, programs and events - some of which may be on a global stage reaching a global market.

Thank you all for your continued support and interest in our mission -- to promote livable and sustainable communities by encouraging more connected bicycle/pedestrian-friendly facilities and promoting educational programs in which residents and visitors can safely and conveniently ride and walk on a more frequent basis.

Keepin it real and rollin,

Ty Polastri
