Happy February!

For all of you who are living life to the fullest you have been given a great gift this month: It is Leap Year and we get one extra day this year! How many times do you say or do you hear others say, "I need an extra day!" Well, the Universe is answering this month.

What will you do with your gift? Sherle and I challenge you to use it as your "Fully Alive Day." What would you do on a Fully Alive Day? Who would you talk to? Where would you go? If God sent you an extra day, how would you use it?

I am using this day to call every single person that I love. I will be traveling that day and normally I would read and meditate and perhaps do some work while I wait for the plane and while I am in the shuttle. Not this year. I am going to christen February 29, 2008 "My Day of Love" and spend it making certain the people in my life knows how very important they are and how much I love them.

My life is filled to overflowing with friends, family, rewarding work and a steady stream of creative projects, and I confess I have become dependent on my email to connect with those who are very dear in my life. Email is wonderful. I love it, yet it does not have the connection of hearing a voice, an inflection of tone, or the whisper of I love you so much. God has given me this one extra day to use and this is what I am going to do with the gift of additional time. What will you do? Please let us know!

If I could call each of you, I would let you know how treasured you are in my life and Sherle's life.

Until March,

Anne

Because I Can!

Last month I was at The Crossings, a spa and retreat center in Austin, for a wonderful workshop on Intentional Health led by Peter Schroeder who is Anne's husband.

They have so many activities available during the day - yoga, tai chi, numerolgy, iridology, meditation instruction - in addition to the divine and delightful spa services, that I was eager to sample at least one of them. But when? The workshop covered most of the time that wasn't taken up with enjoying the dining room's healthy gourmet meals or sleeping snuggled into the down comforter in my room.

Then I saw one thing I had read about, but never had a chance to experience: a class called NIA. I knew it was a type of dance that incorporates several disciplines I love - jazz, yoga, tai chi, and many other forms. But it was at 7:00 AM! That meant an hour less under the down comforter on a very cold and frosty morning.

Before I set the alarm, I thought about all the reasons why I should do it: because I was curious, because there weren't any NIA classes in my small Texas town, because I needed the exercise, because I need to lose some weight... and then I had that light-bulb moment that quiets all the 'shoulds' - BECAUSE I CAN. That's why I'm going to get up an hour early - because today I'm alive, my legs work well and can carry me there; my back is flexible and my arms are strong - in short, I'm ALIVE!!!  I love to dance, and who knows how many more dancing days remain in my time on earth? And BECAUSE I CAN, I DID!

Warmly,

Sherle

Have a "Gift of Time" Party on February 29. Invite those people you normally do not have time to see. Make everyone take his or her watches off at the door and celebrate our most undervalued commodity, time. Cover up the clocks, too. Don't forget the microwave! Write and tell us what you did.

OUT OF THE BOXsinging

Book time at a recording studio (even small towns have recording studios) and sing your favorite song at the top of your lungs. A client of mine does this with her parents and her children. What great memories!

For many, this is the Lenten Season. It is a time of preparation and renewal. Spend a morning or afternoon this next month preparing your home for new beginnings. Throw out, dust, throw out, move furniture, throw out, and get ready. Let us know what shows up.

Love and Blessings,
