waterdogAre there actually Newfoundlands that don't know how to swim? More than likely, all Newfoundlands know how to swim, but there are some that are too afraid or unwilling to try. Granted some Newfs swim better than others by using their legs more efficiently, but all Newfs can swim, naturally, to some extent.

National Specialty Update - Credit Card Fraud
policeThere have been a number of cases of apparent credit card fraud appearing among attendees at the 2012 National Specialty.  Please check your credit card invoices closely because there appears to be no time factor involved with the fraud.  Individuals are still reporting their credit card numbers stolen more than three weeks after the conclusion of the National.  The fraud is still an active concern.

A police report was filed with the Middlesex Township Police Department on Wednesday, May 23rd and an investigation is now ongoing.  If you see any suspicious activity on your credit card please report it immediately to your credit card carrier and contact:

Middlesex Township Police Department
350 N. Middlesex Road Suite 3
Carlisle, Pa. 17013

In regards to the $20.00 fee that is appearing on credit cards during the past week from the Hotel Carlisle.  The advice of the police is to dispute this charge due to the fact that each individual at the Hotel should have been checked out with a 0 balance and the credit card carrier should deny the charge in favor of the consumer. If you did not receive credit for your initial one night deposit, please contact Mary Jane Spackman at <mjspackman@verizon.net>.
Honoring Longevity
old newfIn order to give our wonderful older Newfoundlands the attention they deserve, the NCA Board of Directors has approved the creation of a monthly eNotes column acknowledging Newfoundlands at least thirteen years of age or older. The column will contain the date of birth, registered name, and call name for each honoree submitted. Any NCA member wishing to honor their Newfoundland(s)  should provide the requested information as soon as possible to Kathy Mc Iver.
