Greetings! ,
As we gather around our tables with family and friends to celebrate Thanksgiving it is often tempting to include our dogs in the culinary festivities. Be mindful of the need to safeguard your pets' health and safety during the holidays. Some things to watch out for include: turkey skin (covered with oils and spices), cooked bones, gravy, buttery side dishes, aluminum foil and plastic wrap with food residue, chocolate desserts and well meaning guests who slip your pets "a little treat" that could result in a big digestive upset or worse.

2010 National Specialty Website Goes Live
|
As your host for the 2010 National Specialty, the Newfoundland Club of America is lighting the way to another memorable week with our Newfoundlands and friends. Come celebrate our lives with Newfoundlands as we showcase their beauty and dignity in the conformation ring and their working ability in draft, obedience, and rally. Honor their achievements, attend educational seminars, and enjoy the fellowship of fellow Newfoundland owners. Returning to Frankenmuth, Michigan, for a second consecutive year has afforded the opportunity to retain the popular features of the 2009 National, plus incorporate some new ideas and suggestions received at the show and gleaned from the post-show surveys. All of this has been made possible through the assistance of regional clubs, NCA committees, and many individual members who have contributed to the planning of the show. This is your National-we hope you will come and enjoy it! All of the information needed to have a spectacular specialty can be found at the National Specialty Website, you can also download the specialty packet in it's entirety.

WRDX Survey Follow-Up
|
The WDC has been going through the WRDX surveys that we have received so far. One suggestion that was made was to use a lifering for the Multiple Person Rescue. The WDC would like to hear from anyone who has actually tried part or all of this exercise with a lifering. Comments about jumping off the boat with the lifering and towing more than one person with the lifering would be especially appreciated. Please email Sue Marino with your comments before January 15th. Thank You!
