Here's the latest issue of NCA e-Notes, designed to keep  you up to date on what's happening in the NCA.  This communication vehicle is being enthusiastically accepted by the community of Newfoundland lovers.  From an initial mailing of 1050 subscribers, our list has grown to over 1750.  As always, we value your comments and contributions. Email us at any time with your comments and suggestions. NCA committees, especially, should contact us whenever you have news to share with the membership.

glnc nationalThe Breeders Class at the 2009 National in Frankenmuth, Michigan is being judged by Sandra D'Andrea of Nanuke Alaskan Malamutes.  The judging is scheduled to take place after sweepstakes on Wednesday April 29th. The entries for this class close March 9, 2009.  The entries DO NOT go to the superintendent.  They are mailed directly to Amy Lane.
The entry form can be found on the National Specialty Website.  The rules and regulations can also be found in the National Packet or at the National Specialty website.
News from the Working Dog Committee

NCA judges please note that the judges acceptance form has been updated. Please download the new form the next time you are accepting an assignment.

The Working Dog Committee will be holding an open meeting at the National on Friday, May 1 from 5pm to 6:30pm. This meeting will be for judges and working enthusiasts to meet with the WDC to discuss anything and everything related to the working dog. Please come to share ideas, concerns, suggestions.
2008 Top Show Winners
lucasCongratulations to the top winning show and obedience Newfoundlands for 2008. These dogs reflect the results of well planned, responsible breeding programs; dedicated training; conditioning and grooming; and a commitment to showcasing the very best our breed can be. Behind each dog is a team of breeders, owners, trainers, groomers and handlers who should all be justifiably proud of their dogs accomplishments.

Special Dual Issue Announced
annual coverThe Annual of Titlists will be produced as a special dual issue covering titles earned in both 2007 and 2008. If your dog was submitted for inclusion in 2007 you need do nothing, all of your information will be included. If your dog earned additional titles in 2008, those will be included with the same picture at no charge. Email your new title information to the Annual Editor. If your dog earned titles in 2008 you can submit a data form for inclusion in the 2007-2008 volume. Download a 2008 Annual Data Form. The deadline for submission is April 15, 2009.

National Specialty Updates
Premium Lists for the National Specialty Show will be mailed March 1.

The cost of DNA Collection for the Repository will be $10.00. This discount is offered by the OFA. The NCA will cover all costs of collections and shipping.  Remember to download your history form and bring it with you along with a copy of your dogs' pedigree.
