Round Top Real Estate Fall Travel Tips

Hello Friends,

With the excellent weather we've enjoyed recently, there is no better time than now to check out the country. We've gathered a few tips to remember when traveling down country lanes and hiking through the woods. As always, thanks for reading.

Travel Tip

One thing's for certain - it's deer season! So, if your travels take you to the woods, remember to wear bright-colored clothing or bright-colored headgear - no camo and definitely no antlers. Although most of the property in our area is privately owned and our local population is quite experienced with hunting safety, there is always a possibility of a trigger happy nimrod.

Better safe than sorry. (The bucks in the picture were not actually spotted in our neck of the woods. They sure are good looking examples, though!)

Travel Tip

In rainy driving conditions, don't use your cruise control! Hydro-planing can occur more easlily due to speed changes when traction is lost going through water puddles on the road. Slow down and give your tires a chance to grip the road.

Visitors to our office during last weekend's Wine Fest raved about the Pimento Cheese Spread made by our very own Carole Nagel. Carole has an easy and yummy recipe for any time of the year, here's what you do...

1-1/2 to 2 pounds of Cheddar Cheese, grated

1 bunch of Spring or Green Onions, thinly sliced

1 large jar of Diced Pimentos

Roasted Pecans - however many you want

Mayonnaise - you be the judge of how much

Lowery's Season Salt - small amount or to taste

Mix all ingredients together. Serve with crackers or spread on bread for a great sandwich.
