San Francisco, CA (February 23, 2009) - Straus Family Creamery, the first organic dairy
west of the Mississippi, has just introduced the first organic soft serve ice
cream and frozen yogurt for cafés, restaurants and ice cream shops.
Straus produces a smooth, creamy texture and delicious flavor
that appeals to both adults and kids. Each batch is shipped refrigerated and
requires no additional mixing or ingredients; simply pour into the machine and
serve!
"Requests for an organic soft-serve ice cream and frozen
yogurt keep coming in," said Albert Straus, farmer and founder of Straus Family
Creamery.
Straus Organic Soft-Serve ice cream is available in Vanilla and
Chocolate varieties.
Soft-Serve organic frozen nonfat yogurt contains live &
active cultures, and is available in three flavors: Original Tart, Vanilla, and
Chocolate.
"The Original Tart is a very popular flavor on its own," said
Mary Randolph and Alexis Beckman, owners of
Culture organic frozen
yogurt shop in Palo Alto, CA. "We also use it as a base to create our own
unique flavors like Tangerine and Pumpkin."
In 2003, Straus introduced five flavor of
super premium ice cream. Then, in 2005, they started producing ice cream 'base' (pure organic
cream, milk, eggs and sugar) used by artisan ice cream shops as the base for
their own unique ice cream flavors - including the San Francisco's famous
Bi-Rite Creamery.
Growing demand for organic dairy foodservice products is
leading Straus to offer its award-winning products in larger, foodservice-sized
packaging, including their
European-style Butter,
Yogurt, hard-pack ice cream
and
cream-top milk.
Straus Family Creamery was the first organic dairy farmer west
of the Mississippi. They have been internationally recognized for pioneering
sustainable agricultural practices, including
alternative energy production and
industry-leading protections
against contamination by genetically engineered crops.
