Dear :
As we pass the half-way point of my term as Chair of The Fellows, I want to thank you for your generous support. We are on track this year to set a new fundraising record for The Fellows organization, which translates into an unprecedented level of support for the important research work of the American Bar Foundation. Just this month, ABF faculty added another prestigious honor to their long list of achievements when Research Professor Christopher Tomlins was awarded the 2011 Columbia University Bancroft prize for his book, Freedom Bound: Law, Labor, and Civic Identity in Colonizing English America, 1580-1865. Another example of ABF research that has benefited from your support is James Heckman's article, "The American Family in Black & White: A Post-Racial Strategy for Improving Skills to Promote Equality," which has just been published in the Spring issue of Daedelus, the Journal of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. To access the article, please click here. Many of you joined us for our special Fellows events at the recent ABA Midyear Meeting in Atlanta, Georgia. Having the opportunity to meet so many of you from across the country and world who share in our common purpose of providing support to the Foundation's research is one of the most rewarding aspects of serving as Fellows Chair. To view photos from our Atlanta events, please click here. Thank you for your continued support. To make your 2011 contribution if you have not done so already, please visit our online giving site or call the Fellows office at (800) 292-5065. Sincerely, Kay H. Hodge, Chair of The Fellows
