heldReal Estate Center Hosts Real Estate Research Institute's Annual Conference
The Real Estate Research Institute (RERI) is a non-profit organization created to stimulate high quality research on real estate investment performance and market fundamentals.  On May 3-4, RERI held its annual conference on DePaul's loop campus.  The Real Estate Department faculty played an active role throughout the conference:

  • Dr. James Shilling, who was elected as the new President of RERI, served as the moderator for one paper presentation and as a discussant for a second paper. 
  • Dr. Susanne Cannon was elected to serve a second term on RERI's Board of Directors. 
CCIM Scholarship Awarded to DePaul Graduate Student
The Education Foundation of the CCIM Institute has been granting University Scholarships since 1988. The purpose of the University Scholarship Program is to encourage and assist students persuing a career in real estate and to promote high educational standards. This program enables commendable university students majoring in real estate to experience the CCIM Institute's education first hand.

GLDePaul MBA candidate, Gardner Lane, received the $1000 scholarship plus a voucher for the CI103 course.
President and CEO of Equity Residential Lectures in Real Estate Graduate Class
dnDavid Neithercut, President and CEO of Equity Residential, visited the Real Estate Investment course on Monday, May 2 as a guest lecturer.  He participated in the case discussion on the EQR/Merryland Merger and then shared his insights on REIT's and multifamily housing.
