On June 27th, The Real Estate Center hosted sponsors, students, alums and friends of the Center at the Chicago Club for the annual spring sponsor event. This year's theme, Designing the 21st Century City, used the Chicago real estate arena as a backdrop and explored common design issues that all cities face such as: macro challenges of urban design and demographic trends and what the impact is on overall urban development; key strategies for design contribution to layered and dynamic urban societies and how designers and developers can prevent or reverse the degradation of the natural environment while in a profit-driven business.

Course Description
This course demystifies issues affecting both landlords and tenants as it walks you through the financial, managerial and legal implications of office, industrial and retail leases.
