Mixed Use Development Conference |
|
The Real Estate Center and the Chaddick Institute are organizing a conference that will explore the effects of a turbulent market place on the mixed-use sector. As real estate developers in cities and suburbs are stepping up their investments in mixed use projects to create lifestyle centers and revitalize downtowns and planned communities, some critical questions need to be answered:
- How will the market for mixed use development change in the next 24 months?
- Are the success drivers of mixed use development changing as well?
- Should expectations about the retail components be realigned?
- What common mistakes should developers--and cities--avoid?
These, and many other questions, will be addressed by leading experts from the interdependent sectors of mixed use development. Some panelists include Joe Antunovich, Owner & President, Antunovich Associates; Tom D'Alesandro IV Senior Vice President of General Growth Properties; Tim Angell, Deputy Director of Community and Economic Development at the City of Des Plaines; Terry McEwen, Principal of Poag & McEwen among others. In addition, the conference will open with a keynote address from Glen Marker, National Director of Market Research at Grubb & Ellis, who will discuss the precarious economic environment and its effect on future projects.
Date: January 15, 2008
Program: 1:00-5:15pm
Reception: 5:15-6:00pm
Location: Chicago Cultural Center
