Today at Together In Faith: Our 2nd and 3rd Grade class and their parents are invited to attend "Opening the Bible", on Sundays September 20 and 27. Meet in the activity room with Jackie Sater, Matt Peterson and Jean Swanson.
The Fall Workshop is tonight, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Our families of teenagers are invited to come and meet Tiger McLuen, as he leads a workshop on life as a teenager in today's world. This event is mandatory for middle school students and parents and highly encouraged for high schoolers and parents, as well. Our time will include reviewing the handbooks for the year as well as Youth events for 2009-2010.
Register today for "Making Sense of Scripture," a five-week study that will help you understand how to approach the Bible from a Lutheran perspective. You may choose from among sessions offered on Wednesdays 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. beginning Sept. 30, Thursdays 7 to 8 p.m. beginning Oct. 1, or Fridays 9 to 10 a.m. beginning Oct. 2. The study will be led by Pastor Sedlins and Linda Deal. Cost for the study guide is $13. Recommended is the new Lutheran Study Bible available for purchase in the narthex, $22 paperback and $28 hardcover.

Sunday school children are asked to participate in a food collection this fall. Bring a non-perishable food item to share with IOCP at Thanksgiving. A tour of the food shelf is planned.

In two weeks: Our next children's event will be a visit to the Fall Harvest Orchards in Delano on October 4, from 1-5 p.m. We'll enjoy some great Minnesota apples and other fall produce on this real working farm. There is no entrance fee and wagon rides are $1.00.
The OWLS take a trip to the Hinckley Fire Museum on October 9. Sign up next week at church.
