children are asked to participate in a food collection this year. Each Sunday, bring a non-perishable food item
to share with IOCP.

Fall Workshop is
Sunday, September 20, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Our families of
teenagers are invited to participate in a fun-filled and informative
evening! Come and meet nationally
acclaimed speaker and teacher, Tiger McLuen, as he leads a workshop on life as
a teenager in today's world. This event
is mandatory for middle school students and parents and highly
encouraged for high schoolers and parents, as well. Some time will be spent reviewing the
confirmation and high school hand books for the year as well as Youth events
for 2009-2010.

Looking
Ahead! Mark your calendar
for another Youth and Family event to take place on October 4, from 1-5
p.m. Our parents and children will go
and visit the Fall Harvest Orchards in Delano, which is a working farm where
you can meet and pet the animals.
Did you
get a copy of metro Lutheran? School has started and classes are in
session. But people not enrolled
anywhere can learn, too, with the launch of a new biblical web site presented
by Luther Seminary, St. Paul. Copies are
available at the Information Center.
A note
of precaution:
For awhile we have
set aside the 'Sharing of the Peace' during the liturgy. And, the Pastors will not be offended if you
do not shake their hand after worship. A
kind nod and greeting is quite acceptable.
We pray that this pandemic will not be severe and will pass quickly.
Today we celebrate the dedication of our educators for the 2009-2010 program
year. In Sunday School we have Nancy
