Welcome New Members! Today we receive into our community of faith:

Youth and Family Committee plan a year's worth of fun! Please meet together today, August 30, at 10 o'clock a.m. Bring your ideas to share with the group.
Join other women of Peace to see "Julie and Julia" this Monday, August 31, at 7:15 p.m. at the Plymouth Mann Theatres. We'll be meeting at the theatre at 6:45 p.m. Who knows? Maybe this is the beginning of a new group at Peace called "Chicks and Flicks!" If you have any questions, please contact Linda Deal or Janna McFarlane.
Many thanks to Troy Reding for continuing to plan our Wednesday night dinners and to Pam Jette, who has stepped up to be the contact person for the dinner teams. If you are able to help serve dinner on a rotating schedule, please call Pam at 612-986-5898.
Altar Flowers are givenin celebration of Annika Trooien Isbell's 12th birthday by Inger Trooien.
Would you like to be a ringer? The hand chime choir and Hand Bell choirs will begin practice on Wednesday, September 9. If you would like to play in these groups, please contact one of our conductors. Nancy Peterson will be conducting the hand chimes and the high school bell choir. June Nerness will be conducting the Adult hand bells and small groups.
Say it's not so, Joe. Summer is coming to an end. But before letting go entirely, read about a professional baseball pitcher who is now on God's mound, called to a Lutheran congregation in Northfield. That fun story is in the September issue of Metro Lutheran.
A note of precaution:
Since the H1N1 pandemic has been officially declared, we are taking a few precautions at worship. At Holy Communion, servers are taking care to clean their hands with sanitizer. But if you have added concerns, it is permissible to receive the wine only (served in individual glasses).
For awhile we have set aside the 'Sharing of the Peace' during the liturgy. And, the Pastors will not be offended if you do not shake their hand after worship. A kind nod and greeting is quite acceptable. We pray that this pandemic will not be severe and will pass quickly. |
